The healing properties of sporicha: a new one about the long-known

Sporish is a herbaceous plant of the Highland clan with a stalk length of 10-75 cm. It is very popular as a medicinal product in alternative medicine, as a forage and as an ingredient in many culinary dishes (soups, mashed potatoes, salads). Until the early 20th century, its roots were used to produce a dye of blue color.

Few people know that the scientific name of the sporicha is "birdwoman". In the people the plant is called grass-ant, goose grass, bird's buckwheat, passerine tongues. It is believed that the name "sporish" comes from the ancient Russian word "spore" (quickly), and was given to the plant due to its ability to quickly regenerate damaged parts of the stem.

As a rule, it grows near roads, river banks, on vacant lots, in fields, near dwellings. An interesting fact is that the chemical composition of spores contains ascorbic acid, vitamins (carotene, E, K, carbohydrates, essential oils).

Few know that the healing properties of sporrows were described in the works of ancient Roman physicians Pliny, Dioscorides, who recommended it for the treatment of diseases of internal organs. In 11-15 centuries with the help of a bird of the mountain they brought out stones from the kidneys.

Grass herb: medicinal properties

Infusion from this plant is used in the treatment of gastritis, worms, diarrhea, bleeding, skin diseases, urolithiasis, problems with the respiratory tract, kidneys, since it has many useful pharmacological properties.

During the collection of the plant (always in the flowering period, because the healing properties of sporrows depend on this), only the upper part is cut off without the coarse lower stems. Then dry to grind into powder, or use fresh grass to prepare medicines. It is better to use it in gatherings, and not separately. This will increase the effectiveness of the tool and make its effect more mild.
