The concept of personality in sociology as a conscious member of society

Man is the most amazing creation of nature, which seeks to know itself. His interest in his origins and development does not run out with time, and sociological discoveries are increasingly prompting action in this area. What does the concept of personality in sociology include? This article will be devoted to the popular disclosure of this issue.

All concepts of personality in sociology are devoted to understanding the true essence of man. And although it seems to us that everything lies on the surface, the more complex issue of who is to be considered a person, and who-no, probably does not exist. After all, a person is similar to animals in many ways, but leads a special way of life that is not available for his younger brethren. And it concerns not only the uprightness, weakness of many feelings and instincts, physical strength and inability to external, natural factors. More striking differences consist in the device of a brain which forces the person to make the realized decisions in this or that situation, and also in properties of self-checking.

The typology of personality in sociology is based on the fact that a person turns into a person not just because of it, but thanks to a body-soul organization that encourages creativity to achieve the goal. This is facilitated by the level of development of speech and writing, the ability to generalize the properties of phenomena and to develop natural resources for the creation of new cultural phenomena.

All the concepts of personality in sociology are associated with its social properties. In order for an individual to become a person, he must live and act in the human society. After all, the concept of personality in sociology is defined as a subject of relations and conscious activity, possessing stable qualities of socially significant features. In this regard, the typology of personality in sociology identifies two types of characteristics.

In the first case, it is an active participant in actions that is determined by him freely and is aimed at understanding and changing the world. Such a person has the ability to independently determine their own way of life and give self-esteem to their actions and individual opportunities. She lives and acts in accordance with social and moral norms, has a critical mind, controls herself and her actions, bears responsibility for them and is well-oriented in the situation, finding the right way to solve the problem.

Another concept of personality in sociology is considered through the set of functions and roles assigned to it in society. Through them, he manifests himself and acts in accordance with the emerged situations and circumstances. As an example, two different relationships between older and younger members of the clan and modern society can be cited.

At the same time, performing several roles, for example, an employee, a family man, an athlete and others, the person commits such acts in which he manifests himself consciously and actively, but in different ways. He can be a good family man, but not a very diligent worker, and vice versa. A real person can not be indifferent to either side of his life activity. She does not allow indifference and indifference.

Both aspects of the definition of modern personality are closely interrelated. Role-based definition presupposes the interaction of a person with society. A person can not love, work and feel outside of society. His qualities are manifested only in this sphere.

Thus, the concept of personality in sociology identifies the essential characteristics associated with its properties in connection with the historical formation, social identity, national character and professional activity.
