The causes of the appearance of vulgar warts: treatment and removal

Ordinary warts can disturb people in both young and more respectable ages. Their appearance is affected by the human papilloma virus of the second type. These imperfections spoil the aesthetic appearance. If they are not removed, they can become very large, unite with each other and form large infected areas on the skin.

What is a wart?

Vulgar wart is a benign formation on the skin. It is due to the appearance of the human papillomavirus virus type 2. Sent on contact with infected people or a thing that the sick person used. It represents a built-up edge with a rounded shape with pronounced edges.

Neoplasms come in a pink or grayish-yellow hue with a horny surface. The sizes of vulgar warts are different and can reach two centimeters. Appear in the singular and in the plural, in some places can connect with each other, forming one large affected area. Warts can not be ripped apart and torn off. Such actions provoke their growth and spread.

Most often there is such a wart:

  • on the palm;
  • On the oral mucosa;
  • On the surface of the foot;
  • On the face skin;
  • on the knees.

These formations do not hurt and do not cause their owner any discomfort, except for the spoiled aesthetic kind of skin. Can be troubling, being on the edge of the nail plate or on the nail roller. A lot of inconvenience is caused by the plantar wart. The photo below demonstrates this.

Causes

The appearance of warts is affected by the human papilloma virus, which penetrates through various microcracks, scratches, wounds or abrasions. If the virus gets inside, then it either calms down for a certain period, falls into a "hibernation", or actively multiplies. The incubation period of HPV is 2-6 months.

A healthy organism can overcome the virus, stop its reproduction and development, but if the defenses of the body are weakened, then HPV takes over and forms warts on the skin. As a rule, the virus of the papilloma is infected through contact with an ill person or an object used by a person with warts. Most often, infection occurs in public places: swimming pool, transport, entrance, school, gymnasium and so on.

The appearance of vulgar warts is influenced by the following factors:

  • Violation of the integrity of the skin, that is, the presence of wounds, cracks, abrasions, etc.
  • Excessive dryness of the dermis, when the epidermis starts to crack.
  • Decrease in reactivity.
  • The use of drugs that reduce immunity, such as cytotoxic drugs or immunosuppressants.
  • The presence of HIV infection.
  • Violation of generally accepted rules of personal hygiene.
  • Wet environment.
  • Vegetoneurosis.

These and other causes have an impact on the occurrence of vulgar warts.

It's not a secret for anyone that warts arise under the influence of different human HPV. With weakened immunity, it is rare to suppress the activation of papillomaviruses. In the epidermis, where the virus got to, there is epithelial hyperplasia, which involves papillary layers of the skin, and begins papillomatosis.

Diagnosis of the problem

Before treatment of the disease, it is necessary to diagnose the disease correctly. For this it is sufficient to pay attention to the appearance of the formation and the location of its localization. For example, warts on the neck, arm or foot. The establishment of a diagnosis and methods of treatment does not cause any problems, and usually even an inexperienced doctor cope with it.

In some situations additional diagnostic methods are required to clarify the diagnosis, such as:

  • Dermatoscopy;
  • Biopsy with histology;
  • Detection of antibodies to human papillomavirus.

At home, it is not always possible to fully assess the situation, so self-treatment does not always give the desired results.

Types of warts

To get rid of the wart, you need to establish what type it is. There are only four of them.

  • Ordinary, or vulgar, wart. Is the most common species. It accounts for about 2/3 of the total number of warts. Appears mainly in children and adolescents. Most often there is such a wart on the palm, its inner and outer side. It affects the fingers, in rare cases the face. It is a compacted rough knots on the skin. Their size reaches two centimeters. As a rule, growths appear on the skin in loose form, in several pieces, and rarely sporadically. The largest wart is considered maternal. When it is deleted, all the others disappear. Plantar wart (photo you can already see) - a kind of common. Is quite painful. Delivers a certain discomfort when walking. Virtually indistinguishable from corns. It is convex and concave. The main place of localization is the sole of the foot and the zone of constant friction.
  • Flat, or juvenile, warts. Often appear in the 10-25 age group. They are flat papules with a slight elevation on the surface. The touch is smooth, with a bodily yellowish hue. Localize on the back of the hand, face, in the cervical region and on the wrist joints.
  • Star warts. It is accumulated over many years of epithelium, degenerated into a benign tumor. Occurs only in old age. It is a small speck that gradually grows up to 5-6 cm in diameter. The surface is covered with fat crusts, over time it becomes denser and cracked. Acquires a dark brown look. Apples appear on closed areas of the body, face, neck, arms and legs. Deliver a certain discomfort to its owner.
  • Condylomas. They have a rather specific location. Usually these are the genitals, anus, vaginal opening, perineum. May appear in the underarm area or under the breast in women. In children, they are located in the nasolabial folds. They reminiscent of the cock's comb. Painted in a flesh-colored and pale pink color. If they rub, they turn crimson and bleed. Sometimes occupy large areas of the skin.

Delete or not delete?

The appearance of vulgar warts indicates certain malfunctions in the functioning of the body. Despite the fact that the formations do not cause significant inconveniences, the pains are not dangerous, in some cases they need to be removed.

So, the wart needs to be removed if it:

  • Changes its shade;
  • Bleeds;
  • It becomes wet;
  • Provokes the appearance of numerous daughter formations;
  • Is in the zone of friction and interferes;
  • Causes aesthetic, mental and physical discomfort.

Accidental damage to the wart can result in an infection of the skin and stimulate the development of papillomavirus. In addition, it is possible to infect the virus with all family members, colleagues at work, people from close quarters, etc. There is a small risk of degeneration of benign education into malignant.

In medicine, there were cases when the warts disappeared themselves. At the same time, removal of the neoplasm does not relieve the body of the human papillomavirus. And if the immunity remains low, then it is likely that warts will occur again and again, including on new, not previously infected areas.

Pharmacies for warts

Warts can be withdrawn independently, using the chemical products sold in the pharmacy. These include:

Physiotherapeutic methods

Vulgar warts can be removed by physiotherapy methods, such as:

  • Laser photocoagulation. Here laser radiation causes the tissue of the warts to evaporate. After the procedure, the problem site is treated with 5% potassium permanganate for ten days.
  • Electrocoagulation. Cauterization of warts occurs under the influence of an electric current and is called thermal destruction. After this event, the problem place is treated with an antiseptic.
  • Cryotherapy. Cauterization of nitrogen warts - this is the most gentle method. The process of freezing liquid nitrogen is at a temperature of -190 to -196 ° C. This procedure not only removes the tumor, but also leads to the death of HPV.
  • Medicinal electrophoresis with zinc. The drug is injected into the problem area under the influence of current. Electrophoresis with zinc salts has a cauterizing effect and is accompanied by minor pain sensations. Sulphate or zinc chloride is characterized by astringent and disinfecting properties.
  • Ultrasonic therapy. Prevents further spread of dermal cells. The effect goes directly to the wart, while healthy skin is not affected. Course - 6-10 procedures.
  • Alkaline baths. Soften the upper keratinized tissue, which subsequently leads to the complete disappearance of the wart.

Also, vulgar warts can be removed with a surgical scalpel. Basically, this method is used to excise large tumors. After removal, traces on the skin often remain in the form of scars and scars. In addition, the operation is likely to bleed. After this method, the warts on the skin may reappear if the tissue of the formation is not completely excised. There is a possibility of secondary penetration of the papillomavirus into the blood.

Wart after moxibustion

The result after removing the wart is not always encouraging, since some procedures have a number of side effects. Cauterization with liquid nitrogen in a number of cases causes painful sensations. Clients say that after the procedure, wounds are not very good, and scars and scarring often remain on the wart site, mostly in people with sensitive derma.
