The Botkin path (pictured below) was founded in 1901-1902. It was laid by members of the Yalta branch of the Crimean-Caucasian Mountain Club. It was created with funds from donations. They were gathered by people who respected the famous professor, doctor SP Botkin.

The route was created after his death. The path is named after the great figure of medicine because he was one of the first to assess and talk about the healing effect of the lands of the Southern coast of Crimea on human health. Unique flavors of the needles of local forests, pure mountain air have a powerful curative effect on the body.

The person here is healed not only by the body, but also by the soul. And this is the guarantee of an early cure for many ailments. SP Botkin became one of the first to preach treatment with the power of the earth. Today, thanks to him, everyone can feel the power that nature has.

General information

The Stangeevskaya and Botkinskaya trails, as well as the Taraktash and Stavrikaisk roads, are part of a series of recreational facilities (pictured below), which are located in Yalta from the Ai-Petrine part of it to the outskirts. They pass side by side or even can be a continuation of each other.

The Botkin pathway is part of the route, which lasts from the "Glade of Fairy tales" camping site, which is located near the Yalta zoo, to the Wuchang-Su waterfall. However, it only reaches Mount Stavri-Kaya. This trail does not reach the waterfall. Before him the traveler is already walking the Stapaevsky trail. This is one of the convenient routes. On the way there are signs, there are benches for rest.

How to get to the beginning of the route?

Arriving in Yalta, you can get to the start of the route by bus or shuttle bus. Suitable are those of them that pass along the South Coast Highway. The Botkin path, the route of which starts from the Glade of Fairy Tales, is located not far from here. There is a stop with the same name.

From Yalta, there is transport on the upper road. Suitable buses to Miskhor, Simeiz, Alupki. If you plan to go from the bus station in Yalta, you need to choose a bus 26 or 27. They also drive through the glade of fairy tales. In the city from the cinema "Spartak" there is a direct minibus to the camping at number 24.

Going out at the stop, it is necessary to pass a road that passes at an acute angle from the road. She climbs up to the Yalta Zoo. It will take about 500 m, and then you can see the left turn. This road leads to the zoo.

It is necessary to go straight, not turning aside. After 400 m there will be a pointer with the name of the trail. Even if it passes, then there will be an inscription that will guide the travelers in the opposite direction.

Brief description of the first part of the route

The Botkin path in Yalta, the total length of which is 4.6 km, is conventionally divided into two stages. In order not to get confused on the road, it is necessary to consider the schematic route of each part of the path. This will help to understand where to go further, what lies ahead.

In the first part of the path, the traveler should cross the bridge across the Ai-Dimitri stream. Then the road will lead to a gorge called Burilla-Dere. Half an hour later, in an average tempo, a person gets to the Lower Yauzlar waterfall. Here you need to cross the river Yavluz.

After the bridge, turn left. If you go to the right, you can get into the canyon. Then the ascent begins. There will be another bridge. This is Upper Yauzlar. Between these two waterfalls there is a good observation deck. It is located on Mount Stavri-Kaya. Both Yauzlar are the origins of Yavluz. Then the second part of the journey begins.

The second part of the trail

After the upper waterfall of Yauzlar, the next stage of the journey begins. He is heavier than the previous one. A steeper rise in this place is characterized by the Botkin path. How to get to it, was discussed above. But it is also necessary to study the features of the subsequent path.

From this moment the road leads to the Stavri-Kaya rock. There are two options for the route. The first of them involves a climb along a rocky serpentine. This path is longer, but takes less energy.

If there is no desire to gradually climb the winding path up, you can go directly. However, you should immediately prepare yourself for the fact that more forces are needed. The path leads to a viewing platform. Nearby springs spring stream.

Next, the end point of the path is waiting. The top of the Stavri-Kaya mountain completes the Botkin path. This is a schematic route. All his beauty can not be described in words. You need to see everything with your own eyes, to feel all the surrounding beauty.

The beginning of the trail

The Botkin path, the route which begins near the campus "Glade of Fairy Tales", awaits its travelers. Under the old gas pipes you will see two roads. The left leads to the trail, and the right one leads to the campsite. The right path will be asphalted. This site is called the new Botkin path in the Crimea (photo is presented below).

On the right the traveler will see a tall curb. He goes to the fence that separates the path from the camping. Next will be the gate. They need to go around the left along a narrow path. A little further is the plan of the terrain. It shows all the routes that take place here.

Going further, you can see the railing and stairs. They go down to the bridge. When the travelers cross the ravine, they will take a few steps to the stone. This is a pointer. From it you need to turn to the right. After this, the ascent begins.

Healing trail qualities

The Botkin path (Crimea), a photo of which is presented below, passes through a coniferous forest. On the way, spruce cones are scattered. The air here is unusually clean, light. I want to breathe deeply.

This is a good prevention of upper respiratory tract diseases. The air is enriched with negatively charged ions. The smallest ethereal particles of oils that emit needles give the atmosphere a wonderful smell.

The forest releases into the environment phytoncides, which sharply reduce the number of pathogenic microorganisms. Inhaling the healing ether, a person cleanses his body of many pathogenic microbes and bacteria.

Here it is just necessary to go to people suffering from chronic colds, inflammations of the upper respiratory tract. Passing the shady paths of this path, on the rocks of which lizards are basking, and among the branches of the conifers all kinds of birds sing, one can be recharged with health and a good mood for the whole year.

Continuing the path

Having passed the first ascent, the traveler can admire the beauty of the Yauzlar waterfall. A bridge leads across the river. He descends into the canyon. After passing Lower Yauzlar, the travelers again climb up.

The Botkin path in Yalta on this section of the road has a gentle rise. Having passed a little wide road, tourists can see the upper waterfall. Having crossed a small bridge, it is necessary to prepare for the most difficult stage of the journey. It leads to the rock Stavri-Kaya.

It's a pretty steep climb up. But the road in this place is well trampled. In some places, branches are visible. This cuts the road. But by going by them, the traveler spends a lot of effort. These tracks rise more steeply. Walking along the serpentine of a more gentle path, you can save energy.

At the bends there are benches for rest. The path is well looked after. There are no garbage, branches and other things that make it difficult to climb.

Mount Stavri-Kaya

Winding turns Botkin path in Crimea in half an hour will lead to the top of the mountain Stavri-Kaya. In translation, its name sounds like "The Cross Rock". It is interesting to look at the beauty of the southern coast of the Crimea.

The height of the mountain above sea level reaches 690 m. Its top is shallow, it does not have fences. Therefore, the edge is better not to become. The possibility of collapse is not ruled out, since wind and precipitation affect the rock.

The southern slope of Stavri-Kaya is interesting for climbers. It's almost completely sheer. From this side an ancient cave was discovered. People visited her in ancient times. There are traces of their stay.

The view from the cliff to the city, the sea, the forest and the mountains fascinates. This recovery is worth the effort. Impressions of the view from the height of the mountain will be many.

Legend of Stavri-Kaya Mountain

There is one interesting legend about the Stavri-Kaya rock. In ancient times there lived in these lands the strongest man named Taurus. He alone could overcome the huge bears of the local forests.

But one day the hunter forgot his ax at home, and he had to fight the beast with his bare hands. Having won, Taurus, however, was seriously injured. When he returned home, his strength was almost exhausted. Taurus faded with every passing day. Silently, he went out to the seashore and listened to the sound of his heart muffling.

Taurus's mother was seriously ill. On her deathbed, she told her son that she would not die if he placed a stone cross on the Stavri-Kaya rock. Back in those days the now famous Botkin path was famous for its healing properties.

Taurus did not want to do the will of his mother, thinking that he was too weak for this matter. Mother stroked his head and repeated her request. He could not refuse her son. He went to the mountain and by the morning on its summit stood a stone cross.

Returning home, Taurus did not find his mother alive, but felt that his forces had returned to him after climbing the mountain. So a wise woman helped her son restore health and power. To gain strength in the road can now anyone.

Return trip

Having visited the rock Stavri-Kaya, it is necessary to choose the further way. Here, if you stand with your back to the sea, you can see 3 trails. On the right there will be a way that the traveler has come here. This is the Botkin path. You can return to it at the starting point. However, there is a more interesting option.

Stangeevsky trail extends ahead and to the left. It descends to the beautiful waterfall Wuchang-Su. Directly located Stavrikai trail. This is the longest path among all. But he will lead directly to Yalta.

Running up to the cliff along the Botkin path can be reached in 3 hours. If you walk, this time is doubled. Most travelers choose the Stentyevsky trail. It is extraordinarily picturesque and much shorter than the Stavrikai road.

Having reached the Shtangeevsky trail to the waterfall, you can climb the plateau. Here goes the Taraktash trail. Tired travelers can go down by the waterfall to the restaurant, and from here to Yalta.

Whichever way was chosen further, the impressions of the trail them. SP Botkin will leave the mass and will have a beneficial effect on well-being. Earth and the unique air cure the soul and body.
