Tanks and Chevrolet Blazer are not afraid of dirt

Chevrolet company has a lot of experience in the field of production of SUVs. The history of the company is very rich, as is the pedigree of one of its most famous cars - Chevrolet Blazer. This large and unpretentious SUV has a history dating back to 1969 when the Chevrolet Blazer K-Series was first introduced to the American market. The new model was so successful that by 1982 the company had produced two different versions of this truck. At the heart of the first variant, which was called the Blazer S10, was a Chevrolet S10 pickup truck . This modification was produced for a long time only in a three-door version and was equipped with engines ranging from 2.5 to 4.3 liters. The second five-door version was called Blazer C / K. This car became the father of the idea of the legendary Chevrolet Tahoe.

1991 brought a lot of new things. The Chevrolet Blazer S10 model has undergone restyling. A five-door modification was introduced into production, which was now equipped with only a 4.3-liter engine. Depending on the modification, this unit could deliver from 160 to 200 horsepower. The following years did not bring any drastic changes: the company's marketing department indulged only with names. In 1993, the Blazer S10 model began to be called Blazer S, and in 1994, and altogether removed the letter designation.

In 1991, the Blazer S10 lineup was seriously updated. In the family "Chevrolet Blazer" appeared 5-door model. At the same time, models began to be equipped with engines of 4.3 liters, which could be 160 or 200 horsepower. In 1993, the name of the SUV was also updated, from that moment it was called Blazer S. And in 1994 the name was shortened, the letter S disappeared, now the new models of this series began to be called just Blazer. So the world saw the "Chevrolet Blazer" with 3 and 5-door bodies and a 4.3-liter engine that concealed the power in 193 hp.

In 1995, Chevrolet Blazer appeared, which was intended for South America. This car had a slightly modified appearance and other power units: gasoline engines in volume of 2.2 and 4.3 liters and power of 113 and 179 horsepower respectively. This model is noteworthy in that its assembly began in 1996 in the city of Yelabuga, Tatarstan. That's why this model is well known in Russia, she even came up with the nickname "Elabuser". True, this project ended very ingloriously, since the 1998 crisis brought down all sales, and competitors of this brand let out a mass of rumors to the masses that, they say, "Elabuser" is a bad engine. Owners of this car have to disentangle the consequences of that marketing stunt so far: to sell a car with such a story is complicated. Anyway, but thanks to these two factors, the car was bought poorly, even despite its very attractive price, so in 1999 the production had to be closed.

In 2001, the new Chevrolet Blazier debuted in the United States of America. True, the old model is not enough, even the name was changed: now the model was called Trial Blazer. The car was equipped with an aluminum six-cylinder engine of a new type, this monster can produce 273 horsepower at 4.2 liters. You can also choose the eight-cylinder version, then the power will be already 294 horsepower.

The release of the traditional model continues to this day, although now in the hierarchy of prestige it is somewhat lower than the "Trial", which combines the outstanding characteristics of Chevrolet Blazer with new approaches to the automotive industry.
