Sweethearted hydrangea - leaving at different times of the year

Hortensia, whose care is a pleasure, belongs to the numerous family of hydrangea, which includes about 100 species. There are curly and direct growing, evergreen and deciduous, thermophilic and frost-hardy, tree-like and dwarf hydrangeas. They occur from South and North America, the Himalayas, eastern and central Asia. Color of flowers can be cream, white, pale pink, bright blue, purple, lilac, red, bright crimson and rich pink. The palette of each of the flowers consists of transitional shades or two colors.

A low-demanding and hardy plant is hydrangea. Care for him is not at all complicated. Bushes of these flowers look wonderful in the garden and in groups, also in solitary plantings.

Hydrangea (flowers): care

The flower loves rather acidic soil. After a normal transplant, the plant should be well watered. If in a place where it is going to grow, it is dry and warm, then it should be sprinkled abundantly and put on a permanent place. It should be light, but we must bear in mind that hydrangeas do not tolerate too bright sun. They do not like to overdry. In relation to this plant, it is better to pour a little, rather than to undercharge. But here it is important to consider the following circumstances: in what soil does the plant grow, how long has it transplanted, what is the temperature in the room where the flower is grown, and the current season. A well-developed, adult plant with massive foliage and large floral inflorescences requires much more moisture. Especially if it is grown in light soil and in a small pot. Small, only transplanted or "living" in a cool room, a flower of moisture should be less. Fertilize the plant from May to August. If the weather is too hot, then it is better to fill the water in pallets, so that the plants are not affected by over-drying.

The hydrangeas multiply by the usual cuttings. On the cuttings, you can use all that is removed during pruning. They take root in the greenhouse for about a month. The duration of this process directly depends on the selected hydrangea variety. It is advisable to cut the hydrangea in the first half of the summer.

It is necessary to trim the wilted inflorescences in autumn, together with their stem. It is necessary to bring the plant into the house, clean it properly, remove the damaged and dry leaves. Keep a few days in a warm place, but for this time, even leaflets may begin to fall off. It happens that the hydrangea stubbornly stands green. In any case, in 3-5 days it is necessary to water abundantly the plants and hide them in the basement for the winter. There the cold hydrangea suffers. Care for her at this time is as follows:

  • Temperature throughout the winter in the basement should not be below 2-3C;
  • After a couple of weeks it is necessary to check the moisture content of the soil;
  • Only once a month the plants are watered;
  • Since February, closely monitor the state of the budding buds. And as soon as they go to growth, move hydrangeas to a warm room, water well, and after about a week you can begin to feed it. Plant the place on a bright spot, but not on a too bright sun. It will quickly grow, there will be a mass of leaves, and on the tips of the branches - delicate flower inflorescences.

Flower buds of this plant are formed on last year's shoots. But if in severe winters these shoots froze, they must be cut off. In this case, do not wait for abundant flowering. Old shrubs are then planted on the stump and in the autumn they cut only the inflorescence. To diseases and pests hydrangeas, surprisingly, are quite stable.

People who suffer from frequent stresses, it is useful to grow a flower such as hydrangea. Caring for it helps to fight depression and melancholy, because the flower radiates a powerful charge of energy, causes cheerfulness and joy. Hortense is wonderful to have in a house where there is a patient weakened by a painful long illness. It is also believed that flowers with lilac or blue flowers attract material prosperity.

The flower hydrangea, care for which is described above, can plant and grow even an inexperienced florist. In any case, this plant will only please your eyes and soul.
