The effectiveness of such a drug is based on its active action against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, staphylococcus, pneumococcus, streptococcus, Friedlander's stick, Escherichia coli, causative agents of dysentery. When else can I prescribe the medicine "Sulfadimethoxin"? Indications for use of this drug are broader than in some other sulfonamides, because it is active against the trachoma virus. Unfortunately, this drug has little effect on Proteus and practically does not affect some strains of bacteria that are resistant to other drugs of this group. In particularly severe cases, the drug is recommended to be taken in combination with other long-acting sulfonamides and antibiotics of the erythromycin or penicillin group.

The daily dose of this medication is given at one time. How do I take Sulfadimethoxin? Indications for use in mild forms of diseases: on the first day - 1 g, and in the following - 0.5 g. For the medium-heavy form: on the first day - 2 g, for the following - 1 g. Children on the first day of administration are prescribed 25 mg / Kg, and in the subsequent - 12.5 mg / kg.
