Stationary BBQ at the cottage

There is nothing more pleasant than to invite your friends to a dacha on Saturday and treat them to a shish kebab, which will be cooked on the mangal made by himself.

Stationary brazier made of bricks looks very sound and has quite understandable advantages. It takes less time to care, here you just need to clean the walls from soot. Thick brick walls do not burn out, they keep the heat for a long time, so you will need less fuel to cook the shish kebab. Dimensions of it, as a rule, more than portable, so you can cook shish kebabs on it more at a time. Put it better in a specially equipped picnic area. There you can arrange a table with benches and an economic unit with accessories where you can keep dry wood, coal, poker, tongs, ax and more. In order for rain and snow in winter not to spoil the brickwork, the fixed BBQ is better equipped with a canopy and the masonry is plastered.

Choose a place

The choice of a place is very important. Stationary brazier is better located away from home, so that to the nearest building was not less than 5 m, but given that the place was picturesque and secluded. It is better to arrange the table so that the brazier and all the space next to it are clearly visible. It's very good if there is water near it. Then you need to install a crane with a hose in case of fire.

Foundation

Make a stationary barbecue with your own hands made of bricks is not only possible, but also preferable, because in this way you can realize your own ideas and solutions. For the foundation you need to dig a hole 30 cm deep. The stationary brazier made of bricks is massive enough, so it is necessary to provide a foundation. The width and length of such a pit should be slightly larger than the planned construction. The bottom is first covered with a layer of sand, then a layer of rubble. On top of the rubble you need to lay a metal rod, which will play the role of reinforcement. The aboveground part of the foundation is poured with concrete. For this, a formwork is installed, the height of which is 10 - 20 cm. The composition of the concrete solution: 1 part of cement, 2 parts of sand, 3 parts of rubble.

Base and top masonry

Brick for masonry walls is suitable for anyone. The height of the masonry will be no more than 7 - 9 rows of bricks. From the hearth, the masonry will not be more than three rows of bricks. Blowout is optional. Further, the masonry continues with refractory bricks. You can lay the metal stripes, and on top of them put a series of refractory bricks around the perimeter. Then stack one more - two rows only on the sides. To install a barbecue grate on the sides, it is laid on the brick, but across the masonry.

Installation of metal parts

For skewers, a special stand made of a metal corner is made. For the stops of the corners in the laying of walls are installed in the seams between the bricks and the pins are firmly immured. For the cleaning of ash to the bottom of the cavity for coal, you need to put a metal sheet, which in size should be slightly smaller than the bottom, so that the pallet can be easily removed. And now the fixed brazier is built and ready for use.
