Spastic colitis: symptoms, treatment

Spastic colitis is a form of inflammatory bowel disease. If the motor function of the intestine is disturbed, i.e. Motility of the colon, this leads to spasms, which are manifested involuntary painful contractions of the intestine. Causes

There is a painful delay of defecation. Children may experience insomnia, fatigue.

Diagnostics

Diagnostic examination is usually informative, confirming obvious signs of intestinal inflammation, namely: flushing of the walls of the large intestine, their swelling. Palpatory abdominal examination allows identifying spastic constrictions, which are painful dilated areas along the colon. The walls of the intestine can be shortened, in tone.

How to treat spastic colitis?

Spastic colitis requires individual therapy, choosing the appropriate treatment strategy for the patient. The combined, complex approach to treatment removes psychological tension, helps in a short time to restore the motor function of the colon and improve digestion. To reduce spasms, improve overall health, dietary mode of fractional nutrition is recommended. It should be frequent, but not abundant, vitamin and full.
