Spanish defender Javi Martínez

Javi Martínez is a Spanish footballer who plays for the German "Bavaria". This year he turned 28, and we can safely say that now he is at the peak of his career, although frequent injuries prevent him from reaching a constant maximum level. Javi Martínez stands in the position of the central defender, but can also play the defensive midfielder and even climb higher to the center of the field.

Carier start

Javi Martinez was born September 2, 1988 in Spain, in the city of Estella, where he began to play football at the academy of the club "Berseo" when he was only five years old. During his childhood, Martinez has replaced more than one football academy, until in 2000 he was in the club "Osasuna", where he stayed for a long time, in 2005 he signed a professional contract. However, Javi Martínez did not even have time to play well for his club - he played 32 games for a double, and in the summer of 2006 for 6 million euros he signed "Athletic" from Bilbao.

Going to "Athletic"

It was an impressive amount for a 17-year-old teenager, but the transfer justified all expectations. From the first season, Xavi began to play in the starting lineup and showed himself only from the best side. He spent six years in the club, having recorded 240 matches in his account, in which he scored 25 goals. Martinez almost became the legend of his club, but in 2012 the coach of the "Bavaria" Jupp Heynckes after not the most successful season, when his club in all tournaments was second, wanted to strengthen this player. An experienced coach knew what he was doing, because this transfer was one of the most important in that year.

Triumph in the "Bavaria"

The transfer of Martinez to Bayern became the most expensive in the history of the club - he was paid forty million euros, and Xavi agreed to pay part of his salary on account of this amount, so that the transfer is still held. And in the end, it was Martinez and his bunch in the center of the field with Bastian Scheinsteiger that had a major impact on the outcome of the season 12/13, in which Bayern Munich won the trill by beating the German championship, the German Cup and the Champions League. However, Haynkes retired, and instead of him came Guardiola, who did not particularly give the Spaniard to play. There was another reason why Javi Martínez, an injury, rarely appeared on the field. For example, in season 14/15 he spent on the field only three matches due to damage. For four years in "Bavaria" he played 104 games, scoring 4 goals, and this season after the departure of Guardiola again began to go to its previous level. He has played 19 games and is currently one of the best players of the club this season.
