In this case, the crust should be easily peeled off. If it is not, then it is worthwhile to find another tree. When collecting bark, do not use force or sharp objects. Everything is done solely by hands. The bark can be harvested from hemp or fallen trees. It is important that they are free from debris. Raw materials should be dry. Wet ingredients can introduce pathogens into the soil, the activities of which can adversely affect the plant.

In the forest, you can also find the roots of the fern and moss. Collect these components, too, you need to carefully. The fern should be excavated. For the substrate, only the roots of this plant are needed without the top part. For convenience, the raw materials can be divided into small pieces.

As for moss, it is best to use marsh. If there is such an opportunity, then it is better to collect sphagnum in lowlands.

For the soil you can use deciduous land. It should be used in small quantities. However, phalaenopsis may not like this component.

  2. One part of charcoal, two parts of crushed moss and five pieces of pine chips. A similar soil for phalaenopsis orchids is ideal for those plants that are planted in a basket, pot or blocks.
  3. One part of the pine bark, peat and charcoal, as well as three parts of deciduous land. This soil is perfect for plants that need top dressing.

By what principle should the soil be selected

  3. The less humidity in the room, the more soil you need, which contains a sufficient amount of water-intensive components.

Preparation of soil

Since it is difficult to fertilize the ground for phalaenopsis orchids, it is worthwhile to seriously consider its preparation. If its composition is sufficient for all components, then fertilizing may not be needed.

So, it is necessary to soak the moss for a day in water, rinse the roots of the fern under the shower, and then turn over with boiling water. This will remove all insects. After this, the components should be ground. Peat should be divided into small parts, and bark - to chips. All components should be steamed, and then dried.

At the bottom of the tank you need to put small gravel, foam, broken red brick - drainage. Then lay a layer of soil. In the center, it is necessary to make a layer of drainage, and then - a layer of substrate. That's all. It remains to plant the plant.
