Sintra, Portugal - a paradise for everyone

Sintra (Portugal) is a city that appeared on the Atlantic coast many centuries ago. On its territory you can find the luxurious palaces of the merchants and aristocrats who lived here, once, the monasteries, which were erected in the era of strict Middle Ages. In the city there are wide areas, and narrow European streets, as well as an amazingly beautiful nature. It is in these places in the summer that you can contemplate the sunset playing with various colors. It sits right in the ocean, leaving the horizons of the city of Sintra. Portugal as the westernmost country of Eurasia has a special charm that every tourist simply needs to experience.

This ancient city is located near Lisbon, and next to it is the famous Cape of Roca - the most western point of the continent. However, unlike these two localities, Sintra has a very different climate. The temperature in summer here rarely exceeds 30, and in winter it does not drop below 12-13 degrees. In this region it is always damp and windy, however, there are no real colds or hurricanes, as there is a mountain range nearby, which protects the city from adversity. Therefore, the ideal place for a measured and relaxing stay is exactly Sintra.

Portugal is a true nature reserve, and this western town is the focus of most exotic plants. The local lands are so fertile that they please all residents and tourists with unique bushes and trees, which are nowhere else in the world. This is also facilitated by clean air, which is due to the mountains and waters of the ocean. Such a green riot is a small place where you can still find, which is why people who suffer from respiratory ailments often come to this region to recover. It is believed that the best doctor is this air and Sintra itself.

Portugal, like all Western European countries, is famous for its unique wines. A lot of vineyards fall on the territory of this glorious town. You can taste wonderful drinks in one of the local bars, among which the most famous are Binhoteca (a little expensive, but very refined establishment) and Lawrence's Restaurant (there is no place more suitable for a love meeting).

The city of Sintra is also famous for its exquisite and unordinary dishes. Portugal in its culinary traditions inherited Italian and Spanish recipes, which were supplemented by local ones. Therefore, you can try and elegant risotto, and various dishes from seafood cooked at the stake. It is also worth noting that in Sintra every tourist can find a restaurant to your taste. There are also built real palaces, in which delicacies are served, and unique huts, colorful and national in terms of cuisine, and in terms of design.

A separate theme is the sights of Sintra. Portugal is a country with a rich history, which has grown into architectural masterpieces on its territory. The main palace of the city is the Palacio Nacional da Vila, which was built here in the 15th century. On the highest hill stands the castle Pena, which is the real embodiment of the fairy tale. Built in the 19th century and full of romanticism of the time, it is also surrounded by rosaries, gardens and picturesque lawns.
