Sights of Zaraysk: photo, reviews

The city of Zaraysk is located 140 km from Moscow, which provides an annual influx of tourists. To see the sights of Zaraysk, about 70 thousand visitors come here every year. I especially like lovers of ancient architecture.

Upon arrival in the city

If you travel by private car, you can leave it in the parking lot. Now you are ready to explore the city. The first thing is to go to the Historical and Architectural Museum. It is located just opposite the bus station. Here you can buy a tourist guide. All the sights of Zaraysk on the map are visible well, and they are located in a convenient order for visiting.

Military-patriotic monuments

After the museum you can see the monument to Dmitry Pozharsky. Immediately behind him is a complex of eternal memory to heroes. Like in other cities, it is dedicated to the Zaraite soldiers who fought for their country. On the street of Karl Marx you can see the Eternal Flame, a monument to the heroes who participated in local wars. These Zaraysk attractions are not included in the general list, recommended for visiting tourists.

Water tower

Behind the memorial complex you can see this grandiose structure towering above all the others. For his sake, beginners climb to the city of Zaraysk. You can continue sightseeing along the way to the tower, moving along Krasnoarmeyskaya Street. On the way you can see the house of exemplary content, the church of Elijah the Prophet with a small bell tower, the house where II Shcherbakov lived.

The tower was built in the early XX century, it is made in Italian style and resembles a chess piece. Now it does not fulfill its original functions, but access to it is possible. As already mentioned, she is primarily interested in the thrill-seekers, who decide to make a climb to the wall, hooked the hook by the window of the loophole. Judging by the reviews, this is an impressive adventure.

Museum of the sculptor A.Golubkina

After visiting the water tower, you can further explore Zaraysk. Sights, the reviews of which are warmed by the sincere love of Russians to their homeland, will be most interesting to the residents of the surrounding cities, because they are a living testimony of history. Turning after the tower to the right, you will come to the small square house, which is the church of the icon of the Mother of God of Kazan. Already from it the road will take you to the house-museum of Golubkina. It was opened in 1974. Here passed the life of a great woman, these walls conceal memories of her childhood, youth.

On the first floor you can see the sculptures of a talented master, and on the second floor there is a room where she lived, personal things and documents that tell about her life and creative path. The exposition is very interesting, it is worth seeing to everyone who came to Zaraysk. Sights, reviews about which can be left in a special book at the exit of the museum, are the genuine works of the master. The most famous among them - the vase "Fog" and "Portrait of Alexander II." The guide will tell you what kind of person was a master, what was her life. Many tourists say that it is this quiet museum that makes a great impression and remains in memory forever.

White-stone church of the Annunciation

After leaving the museum Golubkina, you get to the central car ring. Here stands a monument to Ilyich. Next is to move along Dzerzhinsky Street to get to a wonderful church. Its construction is associated with tragic events. In 1608 in the vicinity of Zaraisk in the battle killed 300 soldiers. They were buried in a mass grave, and near the foundation of a wooden church. The building that you see today - the stone Annunciation church - began to be built in 1777, and completed in the early XIX century.

In 1835, a stone three-tiered bell tower was erected, and later a refectory was added. This is the only church in the city that did not stop serving after the revolution. Here, many old icons from the destroyed temples have been preserved. Judging by the reviews, this place of tremendous energy, which can not be described, you need to feel yourself. Immediately behind the church building you can visit the mound, the mass grave.

Cathedral of John the Baptist

Another luxury monument of architecture with a difficult fate, which can boast Zaraysk (Moscow region). The sights of the city are interesting not only on their own, but their history is also fascinating. For the first time the cathedral was erected in the 16th century, but soon it was dilapidated and was disassembled. In 1764 it was built again, but it did not last 100 years either - the walls collapsed. Already in 1821 a new temple was erected from brick, and in 1928 it was closed, the bell tower was blown up. For a long time the building was used as a cinema. Again the cathedral was opened in 1992, and 2 years later a wooden bell tower with 10 bells was erected. Only by 2009 the restoration work was completed.

The Zaraisk Kremlin

If you decide to visit the sights of Zaraisk, do not forget about the real pearl - the local Kremlin. He is among the ten most beautiful in Russia. Built in 1528 on the orders of Basil III, he still retained his pristine beauty. The Kremlin has 3 towers, three of which are with a gate. Also preserved Nikolsky and St. John the Baptist Cathedral. Over 150 years, the Kremlin defended the state borders from raids.

Today it is one of the largest museums of the Moscow region, which can not be bypassed. The collection of the museum includes a magnificent collection of paintings. This is the work of Russian artists IE Repin and L. Bakst. Among his contemporaries are the works of MG Abakumov. There is an exhibition of European painting, which shows paintings by A. Molinari, I. Bardu. This exhibition has a special interest for connoisseurs of fine arts.

The exposition of arts and crafts is widely represented. These are luxurious examples of furniture of the XVII-XX centuries. Bright showcases demonstrate Russian, European, Chinese and Japanese porcelain, glassware and bronze. Fine collections of fabrics include samples of lace, garments of peasants and urban residents of the Ryazan province of the XIX century.

It is the visit of the Kremlin that becomes the most memorable event for tourists who come to see the sights of Zaraysk. Probably, that is why the museum is most enthusiastic about reviews, although a person far from creativity can have enough inspection of the Kremlin itself.

Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker

The Orthodox church of the Moscow diocese operates on the territory of the Kremlin. This magnificent five-domed white stone church came to replace its predecessor, made of wood and not survived the test for centuries. The main shrine of the church is the miraculous icon of St. Nicholas. At the beginning of the twentieth century the cathedral was closed, all valuables were taken from it, and only 70 years later it was returned to the believers. Today it is working again, Sunday school is taking place in its walls.

Here is the holy spring "White Well". In 2000, the territory of the "White Well" was landscaped, the Nicholas chapel and bathhouse were built, and the source itself with the purest spring water was newly consecrated by the metropolitan. Tourists note that the temple itself and the water from the source give a very special state of peace, tranquility and confidence in the future.

Dostoevsky Manor

On this journey through the city comes to an end. You have visited almost all the sights of Zaraysk. Photos of cozy streets and original buildings will remind you for a long time about the moments held here. It remains on the road to visit the old Dostoevsky estate. It is located 12 km from the city, in the village of Darovoe. The father of the author of famous works bought this estate in 1831. In the writer's work, the village of Darovoe is often mentioned, as well as the nearby village of Cheremoshnya.

Today, a museum with the same name "The Estate of FM Dostovsky" was created here. From the city you can come here by shuttle bus, private car or bicycle. The museum's working hours are daily, from 9:00 to 18:00. Today there is not much left from the manor, only a wooden wing is open to visitors.

On the road you can still go for the Silver Ponds. The whole excursion can meet in one day, but it will give a lot of pleasant impressions. All tourists say that by saturation it is equal to weeks dedicated to daily cares. Be sure to choose the time in the next weekend and go on a family trip.
