Seychelles: attractions, description of the republic

The paradise of our Earth, which was practically not touched by the hand of man and which is located thousands of kilometers from the human civilization, is the Seychelles (the sights are described in our article). Seychelles has beaches shaded by palm trees, unsurpassed diving, swimming with masks, areas completely covered with forests, in which wild life teems. Today the Seychelles archipelago is one of those places that tourists visit more than others.

Attractive features of the islands

Seychelles, whose attractions surprise even the most sophisticated tourists, have unique beaches, a unique plant and underwater world. Such beauties are nowhere else on the planet. Here you can meet extraordinary birds and animals.

In the republic there is practically no agriculture, and there is no industry at all. The local government protects the nature that God has given him, and is very sensitive to this matter. The Republic of Seychelles prohibits any expansion of the tourist business, and it is also impossible to build new hotels here. All this is done in order not to increase the number of tourists.

Only in this area there is something that simply fascinates people - it's the magnetizing stones that have lain on the island for many thousands of years. It seems that here they were left by aliens from outer space. Since ancient times, white sorcerers have used the stones. With their help, they plunged into trance and predicted the future.

Mahe, La Digue and Praslin are the granite central islands of the republic. All other islands are coral atolls.

The largest island of the Seychelles archipelago

The largest and most visited is the island of Mahe. In the eyes of tourists irresistible this area do dozens of resort luxury hotels, tropical impassable forests, beaches with their pristine charm and historical incredibly interesting sights. The island offers its guests an exciting excursion program.

The capital of the island is the city of Victoria - it is the largest city of Mahe and the smallest capital of the planet. Here at every step are attractions: a copy of Big Ben in Victoria's main square, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, which is the most important religious landmark of Mahe.

The island of Mahe lovers of art offers to visit the area of Kraft Village. It is such a village of artisans, in which the best craftsmen present their products. Also travelers should try the Mont Fleury garden, which has a huge collection of palms. Among them there are very rare species of trees.

A small but interesting island

The island of Muayen is interesting not so much for its sights, as for history. Two centuries ago, only the foot of a pirate walked to this territory. For the past two centuries, only four owners have lived on Moyen. Until 2012, the owner of the island was Brandon Grimshaw, and after his death the territory became part of the Republic of Seychelles.

On the island, Brandon lived with Creole Rene Lafortune, who lived here for about 10 years. He was inspired by the offer of Grimshaw to settle on the island and gladly accepted his offer. Men actively engaged in augmentation and protection of fauna and flora. Each of the men planted 16 thousand trees. Also, Grimshaw purchased for Muayen several giant endangered turtles.

Attractions that deserve the attention of tourists

Seychelles, whose attractions every inhabitant of the Earth wishes to see, also has some interesting places that all tourists visiting the republic should see. So, one of such places is the gallery of the famous artist Michael Adams. It is housed in a classic chalet, where a small shop and workshop are equipped. Here you can buy your favorite paintings, postcards and author calendars.

The Royal Spice Garden is another interesting attraction. It was founded in 1772. Today in the estate there is a small restaurant of national cuisine, a museum and a souvenir shop. The museum exposition is dedicated to the life of planters of the XVIII-XIX centuries.

In the northern part of the archipelago, one can find the unique Seychelles Morne reserve. At tourists walks on the reserve enjoy extraordinary popularity. The tropical forests occupy a significant part of the Seychelles Morne, and during the excursion you can admire rare tree species.
