What to do in this case? We will configure the router manually, which in fact takes much less time than the above configuration.

First of all, even if you have a laptop, and you want to use the router in the "no wires" mode, we perform the connection of the router with your line. The Internet cable is connected to the port of the router, indicated in gray. It is important to remember that our router is designed to work with fiber-optic networks. Therefore, if you have an ADSL connection, you will need to connect your old modem first, and then a new router.

Next, connect the router through one of the four LAN ports marked in blue, with your network card. Plug the power supply and start your computer.

We find our connection through the local network (Control Panel / Network and Internet / Network Connections), click on it with the right mouse button, select "Properties", open "Internet Protocol (TCP \ IPv4)" and put a mark on getting the IP address automatically. We do not forget to receive the DNS server address in the same way as the automatic IP address. If until now you have not changed these values, then this item can be skipped, since the data is the default.

Next, start the browser and enter 192.168.0.1 into the address bar . In the appeared window we drive "User Name" (by default admin), and the line "Password" is not filled at all.

Now you need to determine from the data received from the provider how to configure the D-Link router. Your Internet service provider must provide you with all the necessary data to make the connection. Without them, you can not connect, as you know. Therefore, beforehand, worry about getting them.

In the opened window, click "Setup Internet Setup", then "Manual Internet connection" and select the connection type.

If in the data provided by the provider, only the login and password are specified, then this is your connection. Just drive the received information into the necessary lines and click "Save settings". If your provider assigns a binding to the "MAC Address", then we block this data by clicking "Clone MAC Address".

If the provider gave you a static IP, then we choose this type of connection. In addition to the login and password, you should enter the DNS addresses provided by the provider. Do not forget to enter the specified IP address.

One very interesting point. Often, the Dir 300 does not want to work in the "Static IP" mode. The way out of the situation is as follows. We configure the router in the "Dynamic IP (DHCP)" mode, ignoring the issued IP and DNS addresses. The router miraculously receives everything automatically and starts to function normally.

The other types of connections are connected on the same principle as the above. If you do not guess with the type of connection, it's okay. Try everything in turn, do not miss, but do not forget to reset the device to factory settings each time. To do this, on the back of the Dir 300, press the "Reset" button and hold for five seconds.
