Sandwich tube - modern chimney design
Until now, some citizens use brickwork as a chimney structure, which requires frequent repairs and regular cleaning (about 1-2 times a year). But not everyone knows that there are designs that can be installed in one day without additional workflow and special tools.
The sandwich tube consists of two stainless pipes of different diameters, as well as a thermal insulation made of cotton wool from basalt.
An effective heat-insulating layer in this pipe provides the solution of such important problems as excessive heating of the outer wall and the formation of condensate, which is accompanied by deposits of soot on the chimney walls.
A small complication in the installation process can occur in the connecting places, but the manufacturers have provided a solution to this problem by making details that facilitate the work. The sandwich tube has panels that are very aesthetic and easy to care for: they do not need to be cleaned, dyed, etc. This system is thought through to the smallest detail, and in addition, it has a long service life, which, if properly installed, can be a minimum of 15 years.
- Installation of sandwich pipes should include two principles:
"By condensate" - if the system does not require the presence of a tee;
"By smoke" - if a tee is used to ensure the withdrawal of the condensate liquid.
- In addition to the existing sufficient thermal protection of these pipes, it is recommended to install additional protection when they are withdrawn in fire-hazardous areas: a wooden wall, a beam, a ceiling, a roof.
- It is strictly forbidden to install a sandwich pipe directly above the combustion unit.
