Sand-cement mixture: composition, consumption, prices

Depending on its brand, the sand cement mixture can be used for various types of work. It is widely used in the repair work of the foundation, as well as for certain types of finishes. The choice of material should be based on many factors. The more carefully it is carried out, the more durable the surface will be.

Sand and cement mixture: composition

The composition includes cement and sand, which are diluted in a certain proportion of water and used for pouring foundations. In addition to the basic constituent elements, mineral additives can be used in the mixture, which can change some properties of the mixture, for example, its strength or ductility.

The addition of certain elements can greatly affect the characteristics of the cement-cement mix. Observance of the correct proportions is necessary to achieve maximum strength of concrete. If the mixture is excessively diluted, then subsequently the concrete will crack, which will significantly worsen its performance characteristics, and will greatly shorten the period of full-fledged use.

With the help of such a mixture, it is possible to brick the walls, fill the foundation or repair cracks of various surfaces.

Characteristic of M150

This sand-cement mixture is used for plastering walls. It is the most widely used building material. Portland cement is used for its production. It can be a brand of PC 400 D20 or PTS500 D0 (to which fractionally sand is added in dry form). After diluting such a mixture with water, it is necessary to let it stand for about five minutes. This time will be enough to achieve a concrete solution of maximum strength.

The surface to be treated must be pre-primed in several layers. This action will help increase the strength of bonding the solution to the surface and, accordingly, significantly extend the service life.

Use M150 sand-cement mixture for:

  • Concreting of horizontal surfaces;
  • Masonry or installation work of any complexity;
  • Repair of structures made of reinforced concrete;
  • Tiling and arrangement of courtyard paths;
  • Leveling surfaces;
  • Plastering and plastering of walls;
  • Repair of slabs;
  • Finishing slopes of both window and door openings.

When working with this material, special attention should be given to safety. It is important to use special tools and working gloves, which will prevent the solution from getting on the skin.

Characteristics of the M200

This figure indicates that the sand cement mixture is used for masonry work. It has increased strength, and is used for finishing various surfaces. When working with a mixture it is necessary to follow a certain order of work:

  • Carrying out all types of work should be carried out exclusively in dry conditions at a temperature of 5-35 degrees above zero;
  • If there are large cracks or potholes on the surface to be treated, they must be filled before the solution is applied;
  • Application of the solution is carried out with a spatula, then the solution is leveled and rubbed with a rule;
  • If the thickness of the applied layer is more than three centimeters, then it is necessary to use a mesh for the plaster, this will increase the strength of the surface and ensure a strong adhesion of the solution to the working surface;
  • The solution is applied in several layers, however it is important to take into account that before the subsequent layer is applied it is necessary to wait for the complete drying of the previous one;
  • The last layer must be carefully leveled and wiped;
  • In a day you can start grinding and finishing the surface with any suitable material (these can be wallpapers, tiles, panels).

The total strength of the surface is ensured approximately 28 days after the completion of the work.

Characteristics of the M300

The cement mixture M300 is sand concrete used for the construction of surfaces that must have the highest strength. This mark is used for the following works:

  • Installation;
  • Sealing of seams;
  • Leveling of surfaces (cement-sand, concrete);
  • Arrangement of screeds;
  • Foundation casting;
  • The elimination of defects of any type located on concrete bases.

Sand concrete can be used for leveling foundation surfaces. This mixture can only be used in rooms that are not subject to high humidity and high mechanical loads.

How to make a mix

When diluting the mixture, it is necessary to strictly follow the dosage indicated on the package. Adding the mixture is carried out in cold water with a temperature of not more than 20 degrees. The dry mixture, which is injected, must be constantly mixed and injected evenly, if lumps are formed, the quality of the mixture will decrease significantly.

Then it is necessary to leave the prepared solution for five minutes, so that it is infused. It is necessary to use the mixture within two hours, if the solution freezes - it needs to be mixed.

Sand-cement mixture for paving slabs is prepared according to the same principle. It makes it possible to conduct qualitatively any masonry work.

Consumption

If we consider the consumption of sand-cement mixture per square meter, then at a layer thickness of one centimeter it will be necessary to use approximately 22 kilograms of dry mixture, which in this ratio should be diluted with water.

Calculation per cubic meter is only used in large-scale construction enterprises. In this case, about 650 kg will be needed for 1 m 3 .

In order to calculate the amount of material necessary to arrange the screed, it is important to take into account the thickness of the concrete layer. It often varies within 1-1.5 cm. With this thickness, you need to use 25 kilograms of the mixture.

Cost of material

The cement-cement mixture for laying can vary considerably in the price category. It depends on its brand, weight and used additives, affecting the characteristics of the material. In average, you can call such prices: the price of the mixture starts from 64 rubles. For a bag weighing 25 kg (varies depending on the country of origin, ready - 2300 rubles per 1 cubic meter.

For construction and finishing work, it is always necessary to use a suitable material. A mixture of cement and cement will help cope with many defects, create a uniform coating of the floor or wall, and also neutralize cracks in the surfaces.

The choice of material should be based on the necessary functionality and type of work for which the mixture will be used. The more carefully the choice is made, the better and more durable the surface will be.
