Roots of ayr: preparation, use, contraindications. Recipes using root aira

Air refers to perennial herbaceous plants. The adult plant reaches a height of about 120 cm, has a flattened stem with a one-sided sharp rib, pointed echelon leaves and small green flowers collected in the cob. Healing properties have only the roots of aira. By the way, the rhizome of this plant is branched, which allows you to collect a lot of raw materials. How to collect and store the roots of ara

As already mentioned, only the root of the plant is endowed with healing properties. Collection of raw materials usually falls in the fall (September-October). This period is distinguished by a decrease in the water level in the reservoirs, which greatly facilitates the process. During the harvest, the plant is excavated completely, the root is cleaned of silt and earth, separated from the stem and accessory roots and washed. The cleared and dried root is cut into pieces of 10-20 cm and left in a ventilated room (not under direct sunlight) for a while. When the raw material is slightly wilted, it is peeled and dried, spreading as thin as possible. Recall that the roots of the ara should not be exposed to the sun's rays, and the room should constantly circulate the air. Store finished medicinal raw materials in canvas or paper bags.

Root of ayr: medicinal properties

With its healing properties this plant has been known for a long time. Our great-grandfathers also prepared from his roots alcohol tinctures and infusions for the treatment of the stomach and nervous system, as well as powders for external use in inflammatory processes. The roots of the aura contain tannins, ethers, acarin, ascorbic acid, calamine alkaloid, and starch. Due to this rich composition it is successfully used for the treatment of inflammations (both internal and external), stomach and duodenal ulcers, diarrhea and other disorders in the digestive system. Also, the remedies with this root help to remove kidney stones and increase appetite. Does side effects have root aira? Reviews of hypotensive patients suggest that it should be used with caution: it helps to reduce pressure. It is also not recommended to use it for a long time: it contains a small amount of b-azarone, which is peculiar to accumulate in the body and adversely affect certain organs and even systems.

Recipes using root aira

  • When bowel disease is quite effective treatment of decoction of rice (2 tablespoons) and the root of ayr (10 g). For the preparation of rice croup and crushed root aira pour 400 ml of cold water (2 cups) and boil for 20 minutes. Cooled and filtered broth drink instead of eating at least 3 times a day. The general course of treatment is 2 days.
  • For the preparation of medicinal infusion, 3 parts of dry fruits of mountain ash and 1 part of crushed root of ayr are taken. One spoonful of this raw material is poured with a glass of water, insisted for an hour, and then brought to a boil, insisted and cooled. This miracle means should be taken half a cup three times a day before meals.
  • Roots of ayr are useful for inflammation of the gums and oral cavity. In such cases, infusion of a teaspoon of raw materials and 1.5 cups of boiling water are prepared. The raw material is infused within 2 hours, and immediately before the rinsing procedure it is heated.
  • For the treatment of cough and even tuberculosis prepare ayr vodka: insist roots (50 g) on alcohol (0.5 liters). Before use, the mixture is diluted with warm water so that it is not so strong. You do not need to drink vodka more than once a day, but this is enough to improve the patient's condition.
  • Outwardly, the root of the aura is used together with cones of hops and a burdock root for rinsing the hair, prone to loss.
