Refrigerator Oka. History of creation, characteristics

Oka is a trademark of the Murom Machinery Plant. After carrying out large-scale works on the reconstruction of production, this enterprise was renamed. Now it is called "Oka-Kholod" and produces a new range of refrigerators available to a wide range of consumers together with the Turkish company VEKO.

The famous Murom Machine Building Plant was founded in the late nineteenth century (in 1867). In the course of its history, the company changed several names and basic profiles of its main activity. In different years, the factory has set up the production of tanks and machine tools, excavators and cranes. The Oka refrigerator was released in the mid-sixties of the last century. Work on this household appliance was carried out only in the hours, free from orders of the military industry. In this regard, there is nothing surprising in that the refrigerator "Oka" for a long time did not change its model range. The modification of the 6M was produced at the plant for more than twenty-five years and was often met on a free sale, despite the lack of choice and a deficit in the retail network of household appliances.

The emergence of market relations caused serious problems that faced the Murom plant. The obsolete Oka refrigerator, which had poor build quality, was rapidly losing its already unenviable position in the Russian home appliances market. The production required urgent modernization, which was carried out within two years. Already from two thousand and two years the company "Oka-cold" introduced a new line of refrigerators.

In the equipment involved in the main technological processes, large financial resources were invested. The goal set by the managers of Oka-Cold was to raise the quality of manufactured household appliances to a competitive level in the CIS market.

The updated refrigerator "Oka" liked the mass consumer. Despite this, the specific weight of this equipment in the Russian market is small. All the blame for the difficult financial condition of the company and the difficulties in organizing production. However, budget single- or double-chamber refrigerators under the brand "Oka" are able to make a worthy competition to Belarusian and Russian counterparts.

The bulk of the household appliances of the Murom plant, which is currently in operation, was produced during the Soviet era. Its repair is not required so often, because these devices can be operated for decades. More than ninety percent of the production of those times was accounted for by the Oka 6M refrigerator, the operating manual of which helps modern specialists to identify the cause of the malfunction and promptly eliminate it.

As a rule, motors are very reliable in these household appliances. Therefore, the repair of Oka refrigerators is carried out only in connection with the natural wear and tear of its parts. Masters of service centers and today can pick up any components that can restore the efficiency of the old familiar technique.
