Safety on skis - a guarantee of comfortable skiing

Among the numerous types of active recreation, represented in the modern tourism industry, a special place is occupied by mountain skiing. Well-groomed slopes covered with sparkling snow, the whistling of wind in the ears, the bright sun in the winter and the smell of frosty air, mixed with the fragrant scent of mulled wine - this is an ineffable charm inherent only in winter resorts.

But, going on vacation, not everyone thinks about such an important moment as the safety of skiing. Although this issue deserves serious consideration, since winter sports, even with the most technologically advanced equipment and the most flawless tracks, are always risky. Neglect of safety rules entails very different consequences. It can be, like trifles like a torn jacket, a broken ski stick or excessive sunburn, and serious problems - sunburn, bruises, fractures, tremors and other troubles. Safety on skis is a model of the behavior of a sensible and prudent vacationer, designed to avoid accidents on the slopes.

At modern resorts, this issue is paid close attention. Trails are designated by the level of complexity and are monitored by the rescue service, at the points of hire, qualified specialists select individual equipment for each client, and the first starts of the newcomers are held under the close attention of instructors. But, nevertheless, a lot, nevertheless, depends on the tourists themselves. For holidaymakers, safety on skis should begin with fees for the resort. Even at home, care should be taken to ensure that the skating was comfortable and passed safely.

It should be borne in mind that on the snow-covered slopes in clear weather the sun will be incredibly bright, so a must-have attribute of the skier should be sunglasses. Do not interfere and sunblock, especially those who spent the winter between home and work. The next step is to choose clothes. It should be comfortable, warm, but not too cumbersome, and preferably waterproof - in case of wet snow. For freeriders, safety on skis is, first of all, protection. Knee pads, elbow pads, back protection, and most importantly - the helmet - these are the necessary attributes, without which the descent along the virgin soil among the rocks and trees will be unreasonable and dangerous. Do not interfere with these accessories and when you first get acquainted with the skis, when the movements are not yet worked out and poorly controlled. Before riding it is necessary to thoroughly check all the equipment. It must be serviceable, convenient and suitable in size.

Directly on the slope, safety on skiing is, first of all, careful and prudent behavior. Traffic on the road must be manageable, so you always need to objectively evaluate your capabilities. In complex or crowded areas, the speed should be lower so that, if necessary, you can stop. It is advisable to stop at the edge of the road, and if you fall, you should quickly release the slope in order to avoid collisions. Especially this applies to areas with reduced visibility. During the descent the priority is given to that skier who is in front, therefore in the creation of an emergency the athlete who is higher up the slope will be to blame. You should always pay attention to the signs on the track and follow them exactly. In general, the behavior of the skier on the slope should comply with the FIS rules, developed by the International Ski Federation. In those countries where winter sports are developed, the safety of ski training is studied at school, and therefore the population is familiar with these standards of behavior since childhood. These are the main laws of ski ethics, observance of which on the slope will ensure comfortable and safe skiing.
