Red birthmark: causes of appearance, types, treatment

Red mole - what is it?

There are quite a few people who have red moles of various sizes throughout their life on their bodies. Most often they are considered only a cosmetic skin defect and do not pay attention to them. In medicine, these neoplasms are defined as gemingiomas. Visual inhabitants can confuse them with their birthmarks. A lot of young children suffer from this lesion in varying degrees.

The red mole is considered a benign subcutaneous tumor. The cause of its manifestation is anomalies of arterial, venous and capillary vessels, leading to their proliferation. Thus, we can say that this kind of pathology is a "tangle" of blood vessels. Sometimes several tumors take up a large enough space (along the entire leg or arm). This disease is called hemangiomatosis.

A strong increase in hemangioma can disrupt the activity of internal organs. For example, in the neck area - to block the normal access of oxygen, and inside the auricle - damage the eardrum.

Many doctors give vascular birthmarks insufficient attention. And this is wrong. Such a tumor promotes thrombus formation. As a result, it is possible to tear off the thrombus and, as a consequence, various heart attacks and strokes.

In addition, sometimes, under mechanical influence, tearing of the hemangioma and the appearance of bleeding are possible. In some cases, neoplasm is observed.

Causes and stimulating factors

The causes of the birth of a red mole have not yet been determined. It is assumed that various pathologies of blood vessels are one of the conditions for the formation of a tumor.

But there are a number of factors that stimulate the development of this new formation:

  • Hormonal failures,
  • Prolonged exposure to the sun,
  • Reception of vasodilators and procedures,
  • vaccination.

Types of hemangiomas

There are several types of hemangiomas:

  • Simple (capillary). It consists of dilated capillaries. It grows to the sides, it often has clear boundaries;
  • Cavernous (cavernous). Consists of cavities filled with blood. It looks like a vascular node that rises above the surface;
  • Combined. The combination of simple and cavernous species;
  • Mixed. In addition to the vessels includes cells of other tissues.

Treatment of hemangioma

If the red birthmark does not cause trouble, does not change its outlines and color, then many experts recommend only observation. In cases of some change, the removal of the tumor can be applied.

The most popular methods of getting rid of a vascular tumor are:

  • Sclerosing (chemical). The introduction of special substances into the tumor leads to the blockage of the vessels. As a consequence, the disappearance of a birthmark. Applied with simple hemangiomas;
  • Laser removal of green and yellow spectral rays. Vessels are soldered. As a result, resorption of pathology. Effective with extensive and difficult to reach lesions;
  • Cryodestruction (nitrogen freezing). The treated vessels become brittle and break down. Used for small hemangiomas.

To the red mole does not appear again, you need to adhere to certain recommendations. They are dictated by factors that stimulate the development of vascular tumors.

Now there is a lot of information on how to lighten the birthmark. And not all recipes are justified and tested by specialists. Knowing what hemangioma is, we can conclude: in the case of a vascular tumor, an independent effect is fraught with consequences, and therefore unacceptable.

It must be remembered that without an accurate diagnosis, even a professional doctor will not prescribe a course of treatment.
