Contents of delivery

  1. Satellite receiver.
  2. Remote control with two AAA batteries.
  3. RCA cable.
  4. External power supply.
  5. User's manual.

The device is activated only if an access card is available.

The connection must be made only when the satellite receiver's power is off and the devices being connected.

To connect the antenna, connect the converter cable to the LNB IN of the GS 8304 satellite tuner. Use the F connector.

To connect to a television receiver via SCART, you need to insert one end of the cable into the TV socket of the satellite receiver and the other end into the SCART connector of the TV.

To connect to a TV receiver with a composite input, 3 RCA connectors (white, yellow and red) must be connected to the video and audio outputs of the corresponding color (CVBS and L / R) located on the rear panel of the device. The connectors on the opposite end of the cable must be connected to the video inputs and audio inputs of the TV that match the color.

Turning the tuner on and off

  • You can enable the receiver only after all necessary connections have been made.
  • Plug the power supply plug into the receiver and plug it into an electrical outlet.
  • Press the Sandby button on the remote control or on the front panel of the satellite receiver.
  • To turn off the device, follow the steps in reverse order.

Setup Wizard

When the receiver is turned on for the first time, and after resetting the settings to the factory defaults, the Setup Wizard runs, which in several steps configures the GS 8304. The program can be interrupted at any time by pressing the Exit button. The parameters of the "Setup Wizard" depend on the requirements of the satellite TV provider.

Selecting menu languages and sound channels

If the menu language needs to be changed, select it from the drop-down list using the navigation buttons on the remote control and confirm your decision with the "OK" button.

The choice made in the "Basic Audio Language" line will become the language of the soundtrack by silence. If a channel does not support it, the device automatically selects a soundtrack corresponding to the second language set.

The correctness of the auto-selection of the maintenance language depends on the correctness of the data transmitted by the operator. If there is no or incorrect channel name, the automatic setting will be different from the predefined preferences.

Adjusting the standard image, video and audio output of the TV

  • The "Video out" line specifies the signal type, RGB or CVBS, which is fed to the TV set.
  • The RGB setting is used when connecting the tuner and the TV receiver with a SCART cable. In this case, the image will be of the best quality.
  • The CVBS setting will switch the TV set to receive a composite signal, the quality of which corresponds to the signal from the terrestrial TV.

Audio Output

Here, the audio signal output from the audio outputs of the TV connector is set. If you select the "Mono" menu item, the sound will be played in monaural, even if the TV show is broadcast in stereo. In this case, both audio jacks output the same signal.

Image type

The satellite tuner GS 8304 allows you to play back images in 16: 9 and 4: 3 formats.

In the first case, the standard picture on a wide-screen TV receiver will be stretched to the full screen. If the aspect ratio is 4: 3, the widescreen broadcast will be complemented by black bars at the top and bottom.

TV standard

You can specify the standard encoding for composite video, PAL or SECAM. Please note that the SECAM signal on some TVs is not displayed correctly.

System time and date

To set the date and time, the GS 8304 satellite receiver uses operator data. To display them correctly, you must enter information about the time zone.

Find channels

In the GS 8304, the firmware already contains the necessary channel search settings for "Tricolor TV" channels. Additionally, you can set the type of converter - single or universal.

If LNB is single, then the operating frequency of the local oscillator is set to 5150, 9750, 10 600, 10 750 MHz. If there is no necessary frequency, you can enter it manually using the remote control buttons. For the universal LNB type, switching between 9.75 and 10.6 GHz is automatic.

The standard converter power is supplied to the LNB IN connector. Increased power, i.e., higher by 1 V than the standard one, is used in case of a non-standard installation, for example, for a long cable length.

After selecting a satellite, you must enter one of the channels it broadcasts.

To start the search, click "Next". The found channels are displayed in the TV and radio columns. After the search is completed, a message appears on the number of channels found. To finish, press the F3 button in yellow. Recording will be stored in the receiver.

Search can be interrupted with the red F1 button. Only the channels found will be saved.

Channel switching is done using the digital or navigational keys on the remote control or CHANNEL "+" and "-" on the front panel of the satellite tuner.

The volume level is adjusted with the "→" and "←" buttons. They work in all modes. To temporarily turn off the sound, press the "Sound" button.

To access some of the receiver functions, you need to know the pin code, which by default has the value 0000.

The list of channels when watching TV can be accessed by clicking on "OK". Navigate through the list using the "↑" and "↓" buttons. The selection is confirmed by pressing "OK".

To exit the list, click on the "Exit" button on the remote control.

TV channel data and programs are displayed in the information banner when they are switched or after pressing the F1 button of red color.
