Childhood

Raykin Constantine was born in early July 1950 in the northern capital. His father - artistic director and actor of the Theater of Variety Miniatures (Leningrad) Arkady Raikin, and my mother - Ruth Markovna Ioffe. Parents were constantly on tour. They often visited the capital, so in the hotel "Moscow" the family had a permanent number, where little Kostya was "transferred" to the grandmother.

But the teachers highly valued his talent, as well as strict discipline - for him it was absolutely unthinkable to be late for rehearsal. And the performance of the guy was amazing even those who had seen many teachers. As they recall, it was felt that several Raikins were studying at the same time. He was everywhere - he himself did costumes, put on make-up, took part in creating scenery, but paid special attention to work on roles.

Already in those days, many noticed not only the actor's, but also the organizational talent of the young man. It became clear that he could make an excellent leader of the creative team. Raikin Constantine knew the theater from the inside from the very childhood, and he devoted theatrical life 24 hours a day.

The Sovremennik Theater

Successfully graduating from the Shchukin School (1971), Constantine immediately receives an invitation from Galina Volchek to the famous Sovremennik Theater. I must say that the young actor faced a difficult task: he had to find his way, get out of the shadow of the great father, gain independence and recognition of his own talent.

In "Contemporary" Constantine was lucky to play many small and large roles. The audience remembered him for the performances "Twelfth Night", "Valentine and Valentine", "Balalaikin and Co" and many others. In 1995, his work in the play "Transformation" (the role of Gregor Zamza) was noted as a national theater prize "Golden Mask". The first time the actor married Elena Kuritsina - a student of the studio O. Tabakov. The marriage lasted only three years and ended with a hard and painful divorce for both spouses.

In 1979, when Constantine was still married, he quite by chance met a longtime acquaintance - Alaghez Salakhov. His father and grandmother lived in the neighborhood.
