Prophets of Islam

Modern people often associate prophets with predictors, clairvoyants and other people with supernatural abilities. Few people today remember that in all religions the prophet is firstly called one who has a direct connection with God, is able to speak on his behalf and is obliged to carry out his assignments. When Islam is mentioned, the name of the prophet Muhammad comes to mind first thing. He is known to everyone, but when asked how many prophets are in Islam, few will be able to answer correctly (of course, we are not talking about those who accepted this religion, but ordinary ordinary worldly people). In fact, there are quite a lot of them.

Prophets of Islam

Muhammad

In this religion he is the main prophet. His native city was Mecca. For the very first time Muhammad met with an angel on Mount Hiro: he had a prophetic dream, in which the messenger of God told the future prophet about his great destiny. For a long time Muhammad could not believe that he was an elected one, since he considered himself to be the most ordinary person who does not deserve such great honor. In time, he still believed in his path and began to preach.

All the prophets of Islam are inferior to Muhammad, since he is the most important of them. This religion claims that the words that are attributed to this prophet must be subject to all living things in this world, since these are not words of man, but of Allah himself.

Adam

He is not only the first person, but also the very first prophet. Allah has chosen him to direct people to the right path.

Idris

This prophet is very much like Enoch from the Bible. Some identify him with the Egyptian deified king Osiris. It is believed that it was this prophet who began to write kalam, began to wear sewn clothes, and also to study the ancient writings. In the Quran he is mentioned twice.

Shis

His father was the prophet Adam. This prophet is identified with Seth from the Bible.

Nuh

He is identified with Noah from the Bible. He became a prophet at the age of fifty, when Allah came to him and told him to bring faith to one god before the idolaters. Nuh obeyed God, but idol worshipers laughed at his words, for which they were punished by various calamities.

Salih

This prophet was sent by Allah to the Samudans, who were angry, arrogant and too proud of themselves. Salih could prove what the gentleman said on behalf of the person, having created a magical image of a camel, but it seemed to sinners a little. In the end, they all died as a result of the earthquake, and Sallich was saved by Allah.

Ibrahim

He is identified with Abraham from the Bible. He called this religion Islam, and its adherents dubbed Muslims.

Loot

He is identified with Lottom from the Bible. Allah directed him to the people, immersed in debauchery, but the sermons did not help, and all sinners were killed.

Ismail

God instructed him to spread faith throughout the world. He is identified with Abraham from the Bible. It is believed that it was after the story of Allah's request for the sacrifice of his son that the sacrifice became one of the sacred rituals of Muslims.

Ishaq

He is identified with Isaac from the Bible. It is believed that he is the progenitor of the Jews, as well as the Jewish prophets.

Daoud

Its analogue is the Jewish king David. His main work is a sacred book called Zabur.

Prophets of Islam and the way they should be

The names of the prophets in Islam are fixed in the Qur'an and some other scriptures, but it is believed that their number is much greater than we know, since Allah appealed to people quite often. God did not choose anyone to be a prophet, which means that they all had to have certain qualities. These are the qualities with which all the prophets of Islam were endowed:

  • Fidelity to their work;
  • Inability to lie;
  • Developed mind;
  • Absence of sin;
  • No fear of difficulties.
