Premature aging of the placenta - do not delay treatment!

The placenta (or "child's place") is a means that connects the child to the mother during the entire pregnancy. It performs a huge number of functions: through it oxygen and nutrients are supplied to the baby, it helps to produce hormones, maintain a stable state of the fetus and much more.

The formation of a "child's place" begins on the 12th day after the fertilization of the egg. It increases as the fetus grows, and its full maturation occurs a month before the birth. Then the aging of the placenta begins, but sometimes there are situations in which this occurs before the time. In this case, the "baby seat" decreases in size, and areas with salt deposits appear.

The maturity of the placenta is determined by performing an ultrasound. Maturity of the placenta depends on the period of pregnancy. When violations occur in this, this indicates that premature aging of the placenta begins. As a result, the child receives insufficient amounts of oxygen and nutrients.

Early maturation of the placenta is a process in which the second degree of its maturity manifests itself before 32 weeks, and the third - before 36. These are the average biological indicators by which the degree of maturation of the "child's place" at a particular stage of development is determined.

There are several reasons that cause premature aging of the placenta:

  1. Abortions. This factor occupies a central place among all the others that lead to the formation of such a state. The walls of the uterus become thinner, and their stable nutrition is disturbed. To the same result lead and the previous complicated birth of a pregnant woman.
  2. Diseases of the endocrine system (eg, diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease).
  3. Chronic diseases associated with cardiovascular disorders, kidney diseases and others.
  4. Premature aging of the placenta can sometimes be due to the fact that the Rh factor in the mother and child are different. This situation is called "Rh-conflict". In such situations, you need to constantly see a doctor.
  5. Severe toxicosis (gestosis during pregnancy).
  6. Detachment of the placenta in the early stages or its low location. Detachment of the placenta can cause miscarriage. The cause of this condition may be an injury or late toxicosis.
  7. Multiple pregnancy. This reason is very rare

The main task of a pregnant woman is to regularly visit a doctor and do the examinations that he recommends. The fact is that premature aging of the placenta occurs without external symptoms. If this happens at an early stage of pregnancy, it can lead to the fading of the fetus. In the second trimester, hypoxia may develop, i.e. Insufficient supply of oxygen to the baby. This, in turn, leads to a delay in the physical and psychological development of the child and the disruption of the brain.

If a woman still has this diagnosis, it is necessary to constantly be observed in the women's consultation and take the necessary tests. If you do this regularly, then there will be no negative consequences for the child. The doctor will take the necessary measures to restore the normal blood circulation of the fetus and avoid complications. When ambulatory treatment does not bring the required results, then the pregnant woman is sent to the hospital for preservation. So if you are offered hospitalization, you can not give up on this in any case. Remember that the aging of the placenta can cause serious, possibly irreparable harm to your future child. Any doctor will tell you this, so it's important to turn to him in time.
