It has the most impressive size and stands out against the backdrop of any other. Particularly noteworthy is the helmet, which has long been associated with this series of games. However, not everyone knows that in fact, power armor is not a single object. Not only is it assembled from several different elements, it also has a large number of varieties both within the same game, and between different episodes. So what kinds of this protective suit exist in this universe?

How it all began

The most popular and well known among the players power armor is the T-45d, which first appeared in the third part of the game, then moved in addition to New Vegas, and eventually found itself in the fourth part, which went on sale quite recently. This type of armor according to the plot of the game was invented in 2067 and did not immediately assume its final form. Initially, it was supplied with a fairly small battery, which was incredibly quickly discharged, which made the use of armor ineffective. Therefore, as a result, the battery was replaced by a nuclear micro-reactor. The servomotor mounted in the armor allows the equipped fighter to carry much more equipment with him than usual, and has his reverse side - the movements of the fighter are noticeably more constrained. Also worth noting is another drawback - many systems are located directly under the upper layer of armor, which makes them more vulnerable. As for the helmet, it is equipped with a large number of additional functions, such as a searchlight, a laser target indicator, a gas mask and a device for negotiating. It should be noted that the power armor of this model had a large number of various modifications that changed one or another of its components, but all of them to consider there is no sense, since now you know all the necessary information about the basic and original version.

First improvements

However, this is an option that appeared only in the third part of the game. What was before him in the universe of Fallout? The power armor did not always look like it was mentioned above - for example, in the first parts of the game its place was occupied by a more cumbersome model of the T-51b. Given the chronology of events in games, this model was developed later than the previous one, namely in 2076 - by the time the above-described set is completely outdated. The T-51b was seriously ahead of its predecessor in terms of mobility, as it was equipped with the latest system. She just did the fighter more and let her carry a lot of weapons and ammunition, but she did not restrain her movements. This time the armor was immediately equipped with a microreactor, whose service life was a hundred years. The materials from which this armor was made provided protection against any kind of damage, including from laser attacks and radiation. In addition, the new armor systems have an additional casing that protects them from damage - much more reliable than in the previous version. The helmet has changed only externally - all systems have remained the same, only the air recirculation system has been added to them. Power armor 4 and 3 parts "Fallout" clearly does not go to any comparison with this masterpiece.

T-60 - the progress of protection

In different situations, the answers to it may be different, but if it comes to the T-60 model, then everything is quite simple. The fact is that according to the plot you will quickly find this variant of armor in the fourth part of the series. Its main difference from the previous two sets is increased convenience. On the back there is a special valve, at the turn of which the back of the suit is opened, the fighter can go inside, after which the armor will be closed and sealed. This, of course, is not the only difference of this model. Also worth noting is a special display that is present inside the helmet - it allows you to monitor the state of the suit, all of its systems, the environment, the body of the fighter and so on. Strictly speaking, using this armor has become much more convenient, because you can constantly monitor how much ammunition you have left, track damage and much more.

X-01 is the power standard

So, you've learned about the most basic types of power armor that are found in the Fallout universe. However, there are many more of them, and some of them deserve special attention. Since the last and most relevant part of the game is the fourth, it will be about kits that can be found there. And the first type, which is worth mentioning, is the power armor X-01. This kit is the rarest in the whole game, but it is also the most powerful. The fact is that this armor is made of a special alloy, combining high strength and lightness. So the power armor X-01 is something that players often pay attention to when they are looking for a model for themselves in the world of the fourth episode of Fallout.

Raiders Armor

If in the game Fallout 4 power armor X-01 is the best, then we should also consider the option of the most unsuccessful armor. It should be noted right away that this kit is not factory - most likely it is the work of the Raiders who found the damaged armor set and restored it for their own use. Found a sample of armor T-45d, so many of the characteristics of this kit are the same as the original. However, the most striking difference is to limit the possibility of improvement - if the original kit has six slots for improvement, then this kit is only two. But it should be noted that, even being the weakest variant of power armor in the game, this model still makes its carrier an extremely dangerous opponent.

T-51

If you have already talked about the model T-51b, you can not forget the armor, on the basis of which it was created. This kit is a prototype of this armor, but it differs in some respects - it is slightly less functional, suffers from a lack of mobility compared to the model that will come in its stead in 2076.

This model of power armor is very different from all previous ones, because it was made much later. It began to be used only in 2198, so you can easily imagine how much different it was from all other versions. If we talk about what kind of games you can find this kit, then everything is quite simple. Given the chronology of events, you can find kits of this armor either in the second part, or in addition to the third one, called New Vegas. The power armor of this type is no longer indicated either by the T series or by the X series - in fact, the game is not even informed whether there was a specific series for this type of armor. In order to power these kits with energy, microreactors were used, which remained on old decommissioned armor sets. Even with their long-term use in the past, they still stored enough energy to long supply life with new armor. In many ways, the improved kit was similar to the legendary T-51b, but there were plenty of differences. The materials of manufacture were completely changed, and the hydraulic control system gave way to servo motors with electric amplification. Thus, in Fallout Vegas power armor is already very different from the way it looked (and functioned) earlier.

"Tesla"

Another type of armor from the distant future, which can be found only in the episode of New Vegas. It was executed using drawings to all the famous scientist Nikola Tesla. It is equipped with special resonant transformers, which are more known to people as "Tesla coils" - it is with their help that this armor is able to form energy weapons for weapons much faster and much more quietly. In this case, the accuracy of shooting and the level of damage to the enemy are significantly increased.

"Gehenna"

This type of armor is not canonical, as it is found only in the game Broken Steel, which is not the official part of the series, but only an addition to the third part of the game. However, paying attention to it is still worth it, because it was this armor that became quite popular even later, after 2277. Most likely, this model is also made on the basis of T-51b, as the technical characteristics they have the same. However, at the same time, the helmet is heavily modified, and the armor immediately shows that it was created for aggressive force actions. Its main advantage over the original version is the fact that it can be repaired using elements from other sets of the same armor, which could not be done with the T-51b.

NBS armor

If the previous set of armor could still be attributed to the original series of games, since he met in an add-on that is not as storytelling as New Vegas, then in this case it should be immediately said that this set may overlap with the canon and in something else, Then he should be contradicted. Used this armor in the game Fallout Tactics, which in many respects contradicts the main story of the games. This armor is a modification of the T-51b, more precisely, its commercial counterpart, which was used in the nineties in the Midwest. This is a limited series, so in the whole game there is a certain number of sets. It is rather controversial, as it bypasses the original by some parameters, and on others it is inferior, for example, on energy supply, since it is not a classical micro-reactor of mass production, but a reactor of unknown origin used for its supply.
