Biography

Natalia Vladimirovna is a native Muscovite. She was born on 06.02.56. In figure skating, the girl came in early childhood. At first she built a career in solo skating under the guidance of twelve mentors who succeeded each other. In 1971, the girl began to work in a group that was under the tutelage of Elena Tchaikovsky.

At that time, the duet, in which Gennady Karponosov rode, broke up. His partner, unable to cope with the incredible loads, decided to leave. Instead of it, Natalia Linichuk stood in a pair with G. Star duo

The couple won the first medal in 1974. A couple of years later, the duo took the fourth place at the Olympics (these were the first Olympic games for all ice dancing athletes). And in the future, success did not release the skaters. They won two world championships in a row (1978-79).

The most significant event for the athletes was the Olympics-80, held in Lake Placid. They ascended to the highest step of the pedestal. Natalia and Gennady became not only partners in ice dancing, strong feelings broke out between them. For a long time they hid mutual sympathy. Romantic relations literally hovered around them. Gennady, unable to cope with his feelings, made an offer. Agreed to become his wife, Natalia Linichuk.

Personal life of the skaters made a sharp turn. Natalya calmly divorced her first husband, the skaters parted with great sport and got married. The wedding took place in 1981. Anastasia's daughter at the stellar couple was born on 13.02.85. She, unlike her parents, preferred ballroom dances. She is engaged in them professionally.

Trainer's path

Leaving the figure skating, Natalia Linichuk faced a difficult choice for further career. Before her, there were huge opportunities for choosing a profession. She was invited to comment on sports programs on television. The famous sportswoman was offered the position of administrator in Dynamo. But she, like her husband, preferred the coaching path, and did not fail.

The couple successfully asked for coaching. In the 90 they left for the USA, settled in the state of Pennsylvania. Their present home is in the city of Aston. Famous athletes are doing their favorite thing - train figure skaters. They go to work at the international center at the University of Delaware.

Gennady is responsible for staging the obligatory dances. And Natalia Linichuk trains the wards with original dances, composes arbitrary programs for them, pays attention to the choreography. Athletes who trainee under their command won the title of world champions six times.

Many figure skaters who trained at the Linichuk couple - Karponosov, became champions. The medalists in their time were T. Navka, I. Averbukh, R. Kostomarov, I. Lobacheva, and others.

In 1999, the talented coach was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor. Natalia Vladimirovna was awarded the Order of Friendship in May 2003 after her students became Olympic medalists in Salt Lake City.
