Nasivin for children - indications for use and dosage

Nazivin for children is used as a vasoconstrictor for local treatment of ENT diseases. It is produced in drops, which can have a colorless or slightly yellowish tinge. The vials in which Nazivin is a baby can have both a pipette and a nebulizer.

With local use, this drug helps to significantly reduce the swelling of the mucous membranes of the nose, as well as its use reduces the number of secretions and restores full nasal breathing. Nazivin for children helps to eliminate the swelling of the mucous membranes, restores the aeration of the paranasal sinuses and the middle ear cavity, does not allow the development of bacterial complications such as sinusitis, sinusitis, otitis media. The action of the drug begins immediately, within a few minutes, after administration and lasts up to twelve hours.

Nazivin - instruction for children and dosage

As already mentioned, this drug is intended for taking in the nose. For children, the age of which is from one to six years, appoint 0.025% drops, 1-2 drops are administered 2-3 times a day. For children over six years of age, the administration of 0.05% drops is prescribed in the same amount and dosage. It is possible to use this drug for children aged from one month to a year, in which case 0.01% drops are used. For children up to one month, this solution is used, but the dosage is reduced to one drop in each nostril.

Nasivin baby, which has a concentration of 0.01% and is intended for the treatment of small children, has on the pipette the appropriate graduation. Using it, you can accurately measure the appropriate number of drops. Also for young children, applying the drug to a cotton swab that is lubricated by nasal passages is practiced, which gives the necessary results. It is recommended to use Nazivin for 3 to 5 days.

Overdose of the drug

With a significant overdose of the drug, symptoms such as cyanosis, fever, vomiting, nausea, pupillary narrowing, pulmonary edema, tachycardia, respiratory distress, cardiac depression may occur. There may also be mental disorders, depression of certain functions of the central nervous system, which is accompanied by a decrease in body temperature, as well as bradycardia, arterial hypotension, until respiratory arrest and the onset of coma development.

In such cases, it is necessary to immediately wash the stomach and take the required amount of activated carbon.

If simultaneous use of Nasivin and MAO blockers, as well as tricyclic antidepressants, is observed, then an increase in blood pressure can be observed. Administration of the drug together with other vasoconstrictive drugs significantly increases the risk of various side effects.

Nasivin baby can be used throughout the period of pregnancy and lactation period of a woman. Before this, it is necessary to analyze the benefits to the mother and the child and the risk to which they are exposed. In any case, do not exceed the dose indicated in the instructions.

Possible side effects

The use of the drug can cause dryness and burning of the nasal mucosa, the appearance of sneezing.
