Namaz is the main prayer of the Muslim

Islam currently has about 1.57 billion adherents, which is almost a quarter (23%) of all people of our planet. High mobility and migration of the population led to the fact that Muslims now exist in almost every country. Therefore, it is not superfluous to learn a little about the peculiarities of this religion. In particular, we will consider what is prayer, what is it different from Christian prayer.

The main prayer of Muslims

All those who profess Islam must certainly perform daily five times prayer (as-salat) - this is one of the basic rules of religion. Muslim prayer is mandatory (fard), necessary (wajib) and additional (namel). Despite the fact that there is no clear description of how the appeal should be addressed to Allah, the order of prayer is rather harsh. Violation of the sequence of poses and verbal formulas can lead to the fact that the prayer of a Muslim will be considered invalid. In addition to the five daily prayer-fads, there is also the funeral namaz of al-janaz and the Friday salat al-juma. The fulfillment of these prayers is also mandatory. It is believed that five times the commission of this ritual saves the believer in Allah from negligence and forgetfulness, helps to maintain the fortitude of the spirit, will and purity of mind.

Time for Muslim prayer

The hour of the execution of Namaz has an important religious significance in Islam. The morning prayer of a Muslim (Al-Fajr) is a symbol of the birth, early childhood and youth of the believer. Daytime prayer (Az-Zuhr) symbolizes a mature youth, the maturity of a Muslim. It serves as a reminder that the life of a person is very short, the time allowed for the accomplishment of earthly affairs is constantly decreasing. The evening prayer of a Muslim (Al-Asr) again reminds us of the untiring and ruthless flow of time and the need to prepare for a meeting with the Almighty. Immediately after sunset, Namaz (Maghrib) is again performed. As it is easy to guess, it is a symbol of death. Finally, the fifth Muslim prayer (Isha) serves as a reminder that everything in our lives will temporarily and eventually turn to dust.

Conditions for proper reading of prayer

  1. Najas (cleansing from impurities). Before committing a compulsory prayer, you should bring yourself into the proper form. Prayer mat (a sheet, towel, etc. can be used instead) and clothes must be clean. Women are recommended to make instinja, and men - istir (purification of the appropriate organs after urinating and coping with great need).
  2. Small and full ablution. The first is accomplished after the person has satisfied his natural needs, and is necessary for the complete purification of the sexual organs. Full ablution occurs in women during the menstrual cycle or after childbirth, and in men - with pollutions and sperm secretion.
  3. Covering specific parts of the body. In the Muslim faith there is such a thing as "aurat". This word denotes a part of the body that is forbidden to display. In men, this is all that is between the knees and the navel, and in women - almost everything except the face and hands below the wrist.
  4. Address facing Mecca, which is in Saudi Arabia. To be precise, you should look in the direction of the Kaaba. If necessary, use a compass or use other available landmarks.
  5. Fivefold execution of the prayer. Prayer committed before the established time is considered invalid. The call to the prayer is performed by the mullah, but if there is no mosque nearby, the time schedule for each specific locality should be guided. All this is so important that whole computer programs are designed to help Muslims perform this ritual.
