When the future actor turned 18 years old, he went to America, where for three years he studied the theatrical art. Then he returned to Brazil and decided to pass a casting in a new television series, which was launched on the television channel Globo. In 1996, Murilo became the spouse of the Brazilian actress Alessandra Negrini. Two actors managed to reach a consensus and be happy. It was said that Benicio twisted the affair with his partner in the filming of the series "In the name of love."

After a divorce from his wife, Murilo met with Karolina Ferraz for a while, but this relationship was known more for her scandals than for romantic relationships. Soon the couple broke up. The second time the actor married actress Giovanna Antonelli, who gave birth to his son Pietro. But this marriage was also unhappy. Since 2007, Benicio is in a relationship with Guilherina Gwynl, an actress.
