"Multifel-4" vaccine: instruction (for cats)

Every pet owner should remember that an annual vaccination allows to maintain the immunity of a hairy pet. Therefore, it is so important not to neglect trips to routine vaccinations. To date, there are many different drugs designed for these purposes. Especially popular among them is the "Multifel-4". Instructions for cats will be considered in today's article.

This drug has an immunobiological effect. Formalinin-inactivated virus strains of infectious rhinotracheitis, calciviroza, panleukopenia, adjuvant and chlamydia are present in its composition. Already fourteen days after the vaccination, the animals form a stable immunity to these diseases. It persists for one year. The cost of one dose depends on the region and starts from one hundred eighty or two hundred rubles.

The vaccine for cats "Multifel-4", the instruction for use of which will be considered in this publication, does not have medicinal properties and is completely safe for animals of all ages. It is a transparent or slightly cloudy liquid of a pink or light yellow hue. Sometimes a sediment forms on the bottom of the vial, which, when agitated, turns into a homogeneous suspension.

Dosing and Administration

The first time the "Multifel-4" vaccine (the instruction for cats is examined in this article) is introduced to animals that have reached the age of eight weeks. After twenty-eight days it is repeated again. In the future, adults are vaccinated every twelve months.

The injection is done under the skin in the area of the scapula. Kittens who have not turned six months old are advised to inject half a cube of the drug, older individuals - 1 cm 3 . Only disposable syringes and needles are used for the procedure. The ampoule or vial with the substance is pre-shaken to form a homogeneous suspension.

"Multifel-4" (instruction for cats, the price of the drug is considered in today's publication) is introduced only to absolutely healthy animals. Shortly before this they must undergo preliminary treatment from external and internal parasites.

Restrictions

The vaccine is suitable for use within one year from the moment of its production. Therefore it is very important to pay attention to the dates on the packages. The drug is stored in a dark dry place. To use is not allowed "Multifel-4" (instructions for cats are discussed in detail above), on the ampoules of which there are no labels. It is also forbidden to use vials containing foreign impurities.

With regard to side effects, in veterinary practice, only a few cases of complications developed after the administration of this drug are known. Sometimes a small rapidly disappearing swelling forms at the injection site. Some animals may have an allergic reaction to the components of the vaccine. To remove this effect, antihistamines are usually used.

The "Multifel-4" vaccine (the instruction for cats should be studied before use) is not administered to animals that have not reached the age of eight weeks, pregnant and lactating individuals. In addition, vaccination is not made clinically sick or weakened pets. To avoid a decrease in the effectiveness of immunization, it should not be allowed to disrupt the recommended vaccination schedule. In case of missed re-introduction of the drug, immunization should be carried out as soon as possible.

In addition, they advise two weeks before the planned introduction of the vaccine to treat the pet from fleas and worms, since it is these parasites that often carry different infections.
