Monument to Lermontov in Tarkhany: description, photo

The State Museum-Reserve of Tarkhany is not only one of the most picturesque places in Russia, but also an outstanding cultural and historical monument.

Lermontov in Tarkhany was lucky to spend a significant part of his life. Here he took the first step, pronounced the first word, wrote the first children's poems. It is in Tarkhany, in the ancestral crypt, that his body rests.

Short but bright life

Mikhail Yurievich lived a short but bright life: the poet died in a duel from the bullet of the insidious and embittered Nikolay Martynov. Despite a short period of time, only 27 years (3 (15) October 1814 - 15 (27) July 1841), Mikhail Yurievich proved to be a multi-faceted, multi-faceted personality. Beautiful poems, prosaic and dramatic works carry a profound meaning, which in an unknown way was available to the writer even in his youth.

His pen belongs to the first Russian socio-psychological and philosophical novel "The Hero of Our Time", which is familiar to every Russian schoolchild.

The biography of the writer is filled with constant traveling, traveling and sometimes forced wanderings.

Childhood and Education

The first move took place when Lermontov was only six months old. The family of the young Michael moved from the Moscow house of General Tol to the grandmother's family estate, located in the village of Lermontovo, Penza region. It is here that the unique, in its way, "home", non-military monument to Lermontov is located.

In Tarkhany, the writer received his primary education. The lessons were held at home, as, according to the memories of my grandmother, EA Arsenyeva, the boy grew morbid and weak. Due to poor health at the youthful age, he was often taken to the Caucasus to be treated.

In 1830 he entered the moral and political department of Moscow University. In 1832 - in the School of Guards sub-lieutenants and cavalry cadets. The rank of cornet of the Life Guards Regiment of the Hussar Regiment was received in November 1834.

The first links. The influence of the Caucasus

In February 1837, because of the government's disagreeable poem "The Death of a Poet", Mikhail was exiled to the Caucasus. Thanks to the efforts of my grandmother, the link lasted not a year, but only a few months. However, even a short stay there radically changed the principles of the poet's perception of nature and life. Lermontov's path begins as a writer and painter.

A secondary reference to the Caucasus (1840) took place after a duel with the son of the French ambassador. The quarrel with Ernest de Barant happened largely because of an unfortunate misunderstanding. Someone told the fervent Frenchman that he was the target of ridicule in one of Mikhail Lermontov's epigrams. The duelists parted, not spilling a single drop of blood.

The link that followed the skirmish with Barant differed significantly from the first: instead of folklore, there were fighting, instead of romantic moods, cold-blooded temper and courage.

Pyatigorsk. The sad end of the life path

Winter of 1840-1841 Became for Mikhail Yuryevich a period of unfulfilled dreams. Arriving in St. Petersburg, he wanted to resign in order to devote himself entirely to the literary career, but did not dare to neglect the opinion of my grandmother. Maria Pavlovna, from early childhood, saw Mikhail's grand future. And it was connected with military affairs. Returning to the regiment, Lermontov met AG Remi (a former colleague), who gave him a cigarette case. It became a memorable and valuable exhibit in the museum-reserve, located in Tarkhany, there is also a monument to Lermontov.

Tarkhans became the last shelter of the writer after the unfortunate and tragic end of a duel with Nikolai Martynov.

The first burial was performed at Pyatigorsk cemetery on July 17, 1841, but thanks to the efforts of Maria Pavlovna, the grandmother of the poet, Lermontov's body was transported to a family estate. The soul of Mikhail Yurevich found peace after burial in the family chapel on April 23, 1842.

Let's go through the memorable places

Dozens of works of human hands help preserve the memory of the creativity and personality of M. Yu. Lermontov. One of such works is the monument to Lermontov in Tarkhany. The writing of writer Valery Kanonov briefly examines all memorial plaques and monuments in honor of the poet. The work is written for the 200th anniversary of the birth of Mikhail Yurievich.

In memory of Lermontov, numerous memorial plaques, busts, reserve museums and museum houses were created. All of them are connected with significant places for it: the Stavropol Territory (Zheleznovodsk, Lermontov, Stavropol, Pyatigorsk, Kislovodsk), Moscow and the Moscow Region (Serednikovo Estate), Penza and Penza Oblast (Kamenka), St. Petersburg, Krasnodar Krai ( Kuban, Taman, Gelendzhik), the Chechen Republic (Chechnya, Porabach, Grozny), Vladikavkaz (North Ossetia), Kabardino-Balkaria (Terek, Nalchik), Voronezh, Tver Region (Vyshny Volochyok), Rostov-on- Don, Velikiy Novgorod, Volgodonsk (Rostov region), There Kusar (Azerbaijan), Tbilisi (Georgia), Tarkhans and even China.

Tarkhany - dear heart of the land

Endless fields and forests, winding rivers, shady groves - it was all around Mikhail Yurievich from the very childhood. Here the writer fell in love for the first time. Later he wrote: "Who will believe me that I knew love, having 10 years old?"

Years later the manor estate was transformed into the State Lermontov Museum (1939). In another 30 years he changed his status to the State Museum-Reserve "Tarkhany".

The museum-reserve can be divided into three expositions: the manor house, the church of Michael the Archangel and the Apalikh manor. A separate stage of the excursion is a stop under the shady trees near the road. Here, not far from the manor house, on June 9, 1985, a monument to Lermontov was erected.

Tarkhans are memorable for posterity not only as a place of rest for the poet and writer, but also as an example of boundless love for a small homeland. Mikhail Yurievich was often inspired by the nature and morals of people living in the village of Lermontovo:

... I love my native land

And more than many: among its fields

There is a place where I began to know grief;

There is a place where I will rest ...

Monument created by a married couple

The number of Lermontov monuments includes two, which were created and designed by one sculptor - O. Komov.

The first statue was erected in 1981 together with architects Yu Penkov and N. Kovalchuk. There is a monument in the city of Lermontov, Stavropol Territory.

Sculptor O. Komov, together with his wife, designed the second monument to Lermontov in Tarkhany.

The photo clearly shows that it is this creation of his mind and hands that is closest to the people: ordinary clothes, ease of posture and a thoughtful look.

Its exact location is the State Museum-Reserve "Tarkhany" of the Penza Region. However, the monument does not exist in a single copy: a similar monument is installed in the park "Museon" in Moscow.

Man-made monument to Lermontov. Tarkhany

1985 was marked by the creation of a sculpture that perpetuated the writer in the form of a thinking, thinking and spiritual person. Earlier, Mikhail Yurievich was portrayed in the guise of a hussar, a military man, which is why the monument to Lermontov in Tarkhany is unique. In addition, he can feel the poet's connection with his native lands.

Tarkhans left an indelible mark in the works of the prose writer, poet and playwright. Very often he turns to the places that are dear to the heart in his works.

Mikhail's outlook began to be formed on the expanses of a family estate in the village of Tarkhany. Nature, people living here, have become a source and inspiration for many of his works. For example, the novel "Vadim" is an echo of the Pugachev revolt, which also affected the Penza province.
