Mittens for babies: fast, simple and warm

Crochet mittens for kids can almost every knitter with any experience. Because of the small size and relatively simple algorithm of knitting, their manufacturing takes one or two evenings.

Knitting options for children's mittens

Depending on the destination, mittens can be:

  • Without a finger (scratches);
  • With the allocated thumb.

Each of these types of mittens can be knitted or crocheted. The choice of tools, as well as the way the product is made, is influenced by the knitter's abilities and preferences, as well as the specificity of the materials used.

Mittens for kids with knitting needles are usually knitted in the event that the master has a relatively thick yarn. A thread with a thickness of up to 400 m / 100 gm crochet is very inconvenient. The cloth turns out rough and absolutely not suitable for mittens.

For a hook it is better to apply a thread with a thickness of 400-500 m / 100 grams. These parameters will allow you to achieve a neat appearance of the product and, if desired, decorate it with colored inserts or a pattern.

The density of knitting should be high, because the main purpose of the mittens is to warm the children's pens.

Mittens for babies: accessories for the little ones

Scrubs in everyday life are called mittens for babies, which do not allow them to scratch themselves accidentally in the sleep with nails. The shape of these mittens is the simplest: a small cheholchik for the palm of your hand. There is not even a need to untie a thumb.

The yarn for these products should be soft and pleasant to the touch. You can use cotton, half-wool or high-quality acrylic. In no case does the thread with the villi fit. They can get into the eyes or into the baby's mouth and cause irritation.

Algorithm for knitting a mitten without fingers

Such mittens for babies crochet begin to knit from the top point. Three air loops (EP) are recruited and circular knitting is started. In the first row there can be from 8 to 12 columns without a crochet (RLS). Their number depends on the thickness of the thread. The thinner the yarn, the more you need to tie a RLS. In the process of knitting the next few rows, the canvas of the mittens should be expanded to 16 cm (folded in half - 8 cm). This can be done by evenly adding five loops in each row.

Next, knitting should continue straight. The edge of the product can be associated with the use of a pattern or leaving it even. The length of the ready mittens is 11-15 cm. To keep the mittens for babies tightly seated on the handles and do not fall off, you can fill the elastic band or the lace at the bottom. As a lace, a narrow ribbon lace, a satin ribbon or a chain of VPs with one row of RLS is perfect.

Classic gloves: crocheted cuffs

For children, warm mittens become a necessary winter accessory. Here you can not do without knitting a thumb. The picture below shows mittens for babies, crocheted. Simple RLS are applied here, and the cuff is connected by relief columns with a crochet (CAP).

Usually work starts from the bottom. If desired, you can proceed from the top edge, as in the previous description.

The cuff can be decorated with any pattern you like, right down to the delicate. A feature of the mittens in the photo can be called crocheting, which allows you to simulate an elastic band connected by knitting needles. Relief COS are obtained when the loop for its formation is pulled not from the upper part of the CER of the previous row, but when the cervix is bent around the cervix. If you hook the hook under the CCO of the lower row from the front side of the canvas, the resulting CCP will be voluminous. When it is planted from the wrong side - it will look drowned. Alternating these two methods, you can get an imitation of gum. Its difference from the present is that it is not so elastic.

Formation of the thumb

After the cuff is finished, several rows should be tied straight (about 2 cm). Then you need to form a hole for your thumb. When working with a crochet, this task is much easier than when knitting the mittens with knitting needles. You need to choose a location for the thumb, tie up to this place, execute a chain of several EPs (1.5-2 cm), skip about 5 bars and then knit from the 6th. In the process of knitting the next row, the EP is tied in accordance with the pattern used. In the next photo, for clarity, the rows forming the hole for the thumb are highlighted in blue.

Shutdown

When you are going to knit mittens for babies, you need to measure the length of the child's palm. After the hole for the finger is formed, you should continue straight knitting until the length of the product is the next digit: palm length + cuff length - 2 cm. The remaining two centimeters are needed to cut the loops. To give the product the desired shape, four loops should be removed in each row.

To make a finger gloves, you should tie a hole in the canvas of the mitten in circular rows to a height equal to the length of the thumb of the child.

The described examples are made using the simplest patterns. But such a product as mittens for babies, crochet (schemes of some ornaments are suggested below) can be tied with almost any dense pattern.

When using schemes containing VP, it is worthwhile to be more careful, since the pattern may be too openwork.

At the same time knitting of dense canvases should be performed freely. You need to try to knit relatively loose, otherwise the mittens will be too stiff.

Ready-made gloves can be decorated on your own. Accessories for girls can contain sewn beads, sequins, beads, embroidery and other decorative elements. For boys, the decor is practically not used, but you can sew separately connected applications.
