Mitsubishi Lancer: feedback from owners about the 9th generation of cars

The Japanese sedan Mitsubishi-Lancer-9 was first introduced to the European public at the Moscow Motor Show in 2003. From that moment it was announced the serial production of new items. Two years later, the Japanese slightly updated the sedan, introduced a restyling version of the Mitsubishi Lancer. The owners' comments confirm that this version became popular on the domestic market and gained a great demand in Russia. In fact, the 9th generation of "Lancer" is legendary for the CIS market, since basically this car was produced for Russian motorists. Since 2007, the sedan has ceased to be produced (it was replaced by Mitsubishi Lancer of the 10th generation), but now you can see this legend on virtually every street in any city. This is not surprising, because it was such a "Lancer" distinguished by its high build quality, democratic price, excellent maneuverability and attractive design. And now more in detail about all this.

Mitsubishi Lancer: feedback from owners about the appearance

The car got quite a stylish and dynamic appearance. In front of the novelty is a new headlamps of triangular shape with rounded ends, a new flared radiator grille with an aluminum mesh flashes in the center . The bumper fits well with a wide air intake, on the sides of which the "guns" of fog lamps shine. Behind, too, all without unnecessary details - a modern trunk lid, a bumper and harmonious optics. Good-looking and cheerful appearance - this is how the owners of the Mitsubishi Lancer design are described. In general, the Japanese have worked to fame and have created a truly modern look, which even now does not seem obsolete.

The interior of the Mitsubishi Mitsubishi Lancer sedan

The owners' comments mark not only positive, but also negative moments in the cabin. One of them is poor sound insulation. During driving not on asphalt road you can clearly hear every beat of the slightest stone, beating about the bottom of the car. The buzz of the engine is also not very happy owners. However, not everything is as sad as, at first sight, the ninth generation of the Mitsubishi Lancer. The owners' comments mark a large and spacious salon, in the back row of which can comfortably accommodate three adults. Also a positive moment is the presence of various boxes for storing all sorts of small things. On the front panel - a glove compartment, in the doors - plastic pockets, between the seats - an open box, and even on the center console there is a small niche for keys or documentation.

Technical specifications of the 9th generation Mitsubishi Lancer

The owners' comments also mark a wide variety of engines. There are actually more than 10 of them, but they were not delivered to every market in full. So, for the Russians, the Japanese provided only three gasoline units. Among them, the younger, with its working volume, developed a power of 82 horsepower. The average motor reached already 98 "horses", and its working volume increased to a mark of 1.6 liters. The top two-liter engine developed a power of 135 horsepower. And all three units were equipped with two transmissions (to choose from). This could be either a 4-speed "automatic" or "mechanics" in 5 steps.
