Military applied sports: basic disciplines

The conduct of competitions and sports activities in general contribute to the development of physical abilities of young people. In turn, military-applied sports, among other things, educate the military in psychological stability, give the opportunity to master the specialties, allow us to disclose the qualities that are necessary for the successful conduct of the service.

Military applied sports: a list

The following disciplines fall into the category of military applied sports:

  • Orientation on the terrain.

  • Swimming in the outfit.

The above competitions in military-applied sports are mainly conducted using military uniforms. Often employees have to participate in disciplines with weapons and equipment, which creates an additional burden and complicates the fulfillment of the tasks assigned.

Military-applied and service-applied sports contribute to:

  1. The education of employees in the sense of belonging to the state, its historical heritage, the life of society as a whole. Holding such competitions gives an opportunity to develop patriotism through acquaintance with historical exhibits, achievements of technical and scientific thought.
  2. Military-applied sports are the key to the development of readiness to defend the state, give the chance to develop a desire to replenish the ranks of the Armed Forces.

Race in uniform

Competitions of a low level are conducted on level ground, often with a turn in the opposite direction at half of the distance. At the championships of the military districts, races in the form are carried out at a distance of 1,000 and 3,000 meters along the tracks of the stadium.

When overcoming short distances, the number of participants is up to 10 people. In the case of a race for several kilometers - up to 30 people. The placement at the start is based on the results of the draw. The race can be conducted when building military personnel in several ranks.

Marshal throw

Military-applied sports compulsorily assume the holding of races at 5 and 10 km. And the movement of participants occurs over rough terrain. The place of start and finish is organized at the same point.

Running is carried out by military men in uniform, often with weapons in their hands, a bag for shops, with a gas mask. Participants are divided into groups of no more than 30 people. Races are held at intervals of 5 to 10 minutes.

Obstacle bar

Military applied sports include multi-event, during which participants are invited to overcome the obstacle course. The equipment of obstacles, the complexity and the order of execution of individual elements are assigned to mentors for physical training of servicemen.

At the competitions of this plan resort to the organization of pair races. And participants are obliged to run only on their own strip. In case of violation of the rules, one or both participants can be disqualified.

The results are documented separately for each runner according to the stopwatch indicators. The participants' time is fixed to the nearest tenth of a second.

Cross-Country Skiing

The competition involves cross-country ski races. Based on the level of physical training of participants, the competitions are held in the following conditions:

  1. When overcoming distances of up to 10 km by beginners, the altitude of the terrain above sea level should not exceed 185 m.
  2. If employees who previously passed through military applied sports, whose ranks are higher than the 3rd in this discipline, take part, the race can be conducted at a similar distance, but at an altitude of not less than 220 m above sea level.

It is desirable that the ski track was unfamiliar, but at the same time safe for participants of the competition.

Maneuvering on official vehicles

Competitions are held with the use of official vehicles regardless of the time of the year. In addition to the participants who are in urgent service, senior officers, as well as members of their families with personal means of transportation, are allowed to compete.

On the track are placed figures in a certain sequence. Passing a distance involves maneuvering between obstacles for a while. The nature of the route, the number of obstacles and their type are determined by the organizers of the competition.

Swimming in the outfit

The place for the competition can be natural reservoirs and artificial pools. The depth in the area of the jump in the water should be at least 1.2 meters. It is allowed to use both horizontal and inclined starters with non-slip surfaces.

The floods are carried out for a while. Participants move in military uniform with weapons such as AKM or its mockup, corresponding to the original according to the dimensions and weight. It is desirable that the dummy of the automatic rifle differed in negative buoyancy.
