Metro Tushinskaya - an important station in the life of a big city

At first glance, the unremarkable Tushinskaya metro station plays a very important role in the life of the huge city, being the most important traffic junction with the many thousands of passenger traffic.

Section 1. General information and history

Being an integral unit of the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya branch, the metro station Tushinskaya is considered an intermediate stop of the Moscow metro. It is located just between Shchukinskaya and Shodnenskaya. Geographically, it is located in the Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo area, which is located in the North-West Administrative District.

The object began its history in December 1975, when it was inaugurated as a New Year's gift for local residents in the section Planerskaya - October Field .

There is nothing mysterious or unusual in the name of the station. Until 1991, that's exactly the name of the district located around, which, however, now you will not find it on the map of the city. Subsequently it was divided between the other two. If you go deeper into history, you can find out that the historical part of Tushino was once the private domain of the wealthy boyar V. Kvashnin-Tushi.

Very light marble covers all the railway walls of the station, and only in the base you can see black granite. The whole room is decorated with an ornamental frieze made of glasscrystallite.

The vault is held on 26 gray-blue marble columns, the distance between which is exactly 6 meters. The floor is lined with slabs with predominant gray and brown colors.

No less exquisitely decorated and technological doors. By decision of the architect, they were decorated with aluminum panels depicting models of aircraft: aircraft, helicopters, gliders and fighters.

The authors of this model project were two people, V.Kachurinets and I.Petukhova. The depth of laying is only 10.5 meters.

In general, the station has two underground vestibules. Taking advantage of the southern one, you can find yourself on Tushinskaya, Stratonavtov avenue and Volokolamsk highway. The northern ones, as a rule, are used by those passengers who need to get to the Tushino railway platform. In most cases, the flow of passengers here is huge, because The metro also has to be used by residents of Kurkino and Krasnogorsk.

Section 3. Metro Tushinskaya. What to see in the vicinity?

Directly near the metro is located one of the most picturesque corners of the Russian capital - a manor called Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo. The magnificent and very cozy park was broken up in this place several centuries ago and today it enjoys immense popularity among local residents and guests of Moscow.
