By the way, as a platform, after all, the basis of the Mercedes-Benz W140 was taken . And why pay more (the minimum cost - 400 000 euros at that time in Germany itself), if you can buy an equally powerful and prestigious car?

About the model

"Maybach 62" was made in two versions of the body. More precisely, he was alone, but the length was different. There was an option for 5728 mm, as well as for 6165 mm. The wheelbase of the first variant was as much as 3390 mm. At the second it was equal to indicators of 3827 mm. Versions can be distinguished even by eye and without a label. The back door is already a "hint" in itself. The "Maybach", known as the index 57, it is shorter than the front. And in the 62nd it does not exist at all.

The Maybach 62 accessories can also be distinguished by some special features. More powerful versions can boast of a radiator grille, which consists not of 20 thin strips arranged vertically, but of eleven thick so-called ribs. And the car "Maybach 62 S" can be easily recognized by the exhaust pipe system. In the conventional model, they are not visible and are under the bumper. And the version "S" - withdrawn from under it.

By the way, in 2007 a model called Landaulet was released. She had a retractable roof over the second row of armchairs.

Interior

Reviews for the Maybach 62 are quite interesting. And in most of them people claim that this, in fact, is a copy of the "Mercedes" in the body of the W220. Indeed, there are similarities, and there are many of them! It is enough to look into the salon to understand this. The instrument panel and it would have been taken over from the Mercedes - no differences! However, it is worth remembering something. W220 is a car that was manufactured primarily for passenger comfort. That is, it was assumed that it will be driven by businessmen and serious persons, accompanied by a personal driver. And the dashboard, respectively, made the most ergonomic and practical. That is, a greater emphasis was placed on passenger comfort. And all the works were allowed to create maximum comforts in the back row. But "Maybach" is positioned as a car for the driver. But inside it's the same W220. Which is not very clear. This moment should be thought through.

True, the bundle is decent. There is everything - climate and cruise control, cooling with heating, adjustment and massage of seats and much more. By the way, there are also rugs made from sheep's clothing. This exclusive! As, actually, and a powerful audio system with speakers in the amount of 21 pieces.

Another topic that I would like to raise. This car boasts a V-shaped supercharged 12-cylinder engine, the volume of which is as much as 5.5 liters. The power is 550 horsepower! The car reaches 100 km in 5.2 seconds.

The "luxury" modification (which is known as the "S") is a bi-turbo power unit, six-liter. And the power, respectively, more - as many as 612 "horses." Up to "hundred" accelerates in five seconds. All power units can boast a chain-type timing gear, as well as 3 valves for each of the cylinders. Transfers are switched due to the 5-band "automatic". In general, the machine is not out of the weak - and it's not surprising. German manufacturers have always been able to make powerful and fast cars. By the way, the maximum speed is 250 km / h, but this is still limited by electronics.

Cost

And finally a few words about the price of this car. In those years, when the "Maybach" just came out, its minimum cost was 475 thousand euros! Although initially, as already mentioned above, it was planned that it would cost 400,000. The maximum configuration cost then to buyers at 560 thousand euros. To think, after all it for today's course more than 48 million rubles! But even then the car was not particularly purchased. And by the way, the car refers to liquid. The cost fell on him only after the model was removed from production. That is, more recently.

Although now if you look for ads, you can find this model (and a recent release, somewhere in 2008) for about 20 million rubles. In Russia, in any case, there are three or four such proposals.
