Masha Mironova. "Captain's daughter". Characteristics of the heroine

One of Alexander Pushkin's favorite female literary images created by himself was Masha Mironova, the captain's daughter. Its characteristic, given by the author in one of the first Russian works of prose, really touches. The plot of the story is taken from the memoirs of Pyotr Andreevich Grinev, a fifty-year-old nobleman. But, as the literary critics testify, the heroine herself is of a non-feminine origin. The story "The Captain's Daughter" was created creatively. Masha Mironova, figuratively speaking, was created by Pushkin proceeding from the type of woman he saw. The prototype of the appearance and character of Masha was Marya Vasilievna Borisova, the daughter of the Tver nobleman Vasily Grigorievich Borisov. At the Christmas ball of 1829, given in the town of Staritsa in Tver province by the local merchant Filippov, Alexander Sergeevich saw this young lady, danced and talked with her.

Life with parents

Arrived to serve Peter Grinev sees how calmly and measuredly lives with his parents, the captain's daughter. Characteristics of Masha Mironova is common for a simple Russian girl. The eighteen-year-old person by the will of fate is uneducated, because she lives "in a bearish corner" - in the Belogorsky fortress. Where can I get teachers here? The head of the family, Captain Mironov, who had come out of ordinary soldiers, was the commandant of the fortress. Mother Masha - Vasilisa Egorovna - "baba-thunder", she actually is the head of the family. The woman leads the way "in a popular way", not boasting of the origin of poor noblemen. She, dressed folly, equally leads the pickles and deeds in the fortress. She is constantly helped by her daughter. In fact, taking all decisions and feeling superior, Vasilisa respects her husband, always calling him by name and patronymic - Ivan Kuzmich. Therefore, relations in the family are kind, harmonious. In the servants of Mironov, there is only one girl-practically all cases were dealt with by mother and daughter.

His daughter, rusuyu, chubby, rosy, mother calls a coward. However, as we see from the plot, cowardice is not her element. In the story, the main plot of the load is carried by Masha Mironova, the captain's daughter. The characteristic fascinates her: naive, tender, timid, very feminine. The speech of the girl is simple, however, her speech turns indicate developed thinking. She comprehends all she hears, passes through herself, as the following quotes say: "I .. froze," "he ... is disgusting," "I was worried ...". She, of course, lacks education, but thinking is developed and figurative.

If necessary, the girl is able to show a firm and determined character. Masha does not adjust to the circumstances. It would seem that it is profitable for her, without a dowry, to marry a non-poor cavalier who bestows it (meaning the aristocrat Shvabrin, exiled to the fortress because of the duel), but she refuses gifts, as natural, natural insight allows her to view the person as a baseness And meanness. And even being in love with Grinev, the girl adheres to strict moral principles, does not agree with the proposal of a young man to marry without the blessing of his parents. Undoubtedly, Masha Mironova, the captain's daughter, is depicted as an integral and honest girl. Characteristics of the girl given by Pushkin is different than, say, the characterization of Tatyana Larina in the work "Eugene Onegin." Masha is shown as a girl capable of act and sacrifice.

Orphaned Masha

With her resilience, she resembles her mother, Vasilisa Yegorovna. When the garrison of the fortress (and in fact of a small village behind a wooden palisade) was threatened with the attack by the army of Emelian Pugachev, she, having sent her daughter to relatives in Orenburg, herself remained to share the fate of her husband. After the rebellious Cossacks hanged Ivan Kuzmich and led her, stripped naked, from the house, Masha's mother without a shadow of fear, without asking for mercy, asked the torturers about the same death, next to her husband.

Masha Mironova, the captain's daughter, endured the loss of loss. Its characterization in an extreme situation is more than convincing. Masha, a worthy daughter of her mother, is not afraid when perjurer Shvabrin, who swore allegiance to Pugachev, forcefully imprisoned her, demanding to marry him. It was like a divine gift that it took its release by Peter Grinev, accomplished not without the help of Pugachev himself (help was rendered by the ataman out of respect for Grinev, although he remained faithful to Catherine Catherine). Parents of Grinev, where the orphaned Masha had gone, took her as her own. All caste prejudices were discarded by them. A kind and honest girl became like a daughter to them. They loved her dearly.

When the beloved was arrested, suspected of aiding Emelian Pugachev, the girl found the courage to approach the only person who was able to save the doomed person - the queen. Sincere, open Masha found words that convinced Catherine the Great.

Conclusion

The soul beauty of a person does not depend on his well-being. In the story "The Captain's Daughter" very touching, for the first time for Russian literature are shown two non-aristocrats - Peter Grinev and Masha Mironova, sacrificing themselves to each other, in love with each other. They are both brave and noble, able not to wait for their fate, but to resist the vicissitudes of fate. But one thing does not raise doubts: in fact, the head of their family will be Masha, and she, just like her mother, will take on the main burden of family responsibilities.
