Made in PRC. Country of origin - China

Relatively recently, many products have been labeled Made in PRC. Which country delivers this product, because there is no state with this name on the world map? It turns out that this marking replaced all the famous Made in China.

PRC - country China

It is not a secret to anyone that Chinese goods are often perceived extremely negatively, even it is believed that this is the lowest-quality products. In the minds of a large number of consumers there is an obsessive comprehension that products from China are very bad and substandard. The roots of this belief lie in the waves of cheap consumer goods coming from the PRC to the counters of markets and shops from the end of the 20th century. Transnational companies that have production in China decided to change the perception of consumers and eliminate the negative elements associated with goods coming from this country. That's how the labeling Made in PRC. The country-producer of products on which there is such an inscription, as you already understood, is China.

Reputation is a delicate matter!

The abbreviation PRC stands for People's Republic of China. It would seem, that's all the wisdom. But if you think about it, you begin to understand that this is the first rebranding of a whole state undertaken in modern history. To get rid of the persistent association that China is a low-quality product, the most modern communication methods are used. In today's conditions, when multimedia technologies are developing at a frantic pace , these methods work much more efficiently than brainwashing in a totalitarian country.

It should be noted that other states suffered from the same stigma in different historical periods. For example, at the end of the 19th century Germany was experiencing difficulties with its marking Made in Germany; Production from Japan (Made in Japan) for a long period in the United States was considered substandard. But these countries still managed to change their reputation, for which they had to persistently and continuously improve the goods exported for export. And, for example, in Great Britain, they still do not really respect their own products marked "Made in Britain", which also has certain stereotypes, which, in fact, are in no way backed up.

Is there a difference: China or PRC? The country is one!

With Chinese conventions, the situation is somewhat two-fold. So, the inscription Made in PRC can be seen on the products of those transnational corporations whose industrial factories and factories are located in China and produce rather high-quality products, and on goods made in Chinese cellars where people on stools or their own knees are working on various phones , Chargers, communicators, sew "brand" clothes on antediluvian hand-held machines, etc. It becomes clear that the producing country does not care about any improvement in quality. PRC or China - in essence, there is no difference. Chinese entrepreneurs and transnational corporations have one goal - to avoid negative associations.

In such actions it is difficult to find logic. After all, the factory products from the People's Republic of China, produced according to the technologies developed in the USA, Europe and Japan, are of fairly good quality. Such goods are exported not only to Russia, but also to the same United States and Europe. In this regard, it seems that it is more logical to struggle with the manufacture and export of counterfeit goods inside the state, in this case, the marking of Made in PRC by consumers will be perceived better. However, the Chinese government has its own views on the quality of exported products.

Such a rebranding!

It is quite clear that the outsourcing of production and its relocation to the provinces of the PRC is an extremely profitable event for large industrial companies in modern conditions. Thanks to tax benefits, savings on wages, they significantly reduce the cost of production. Consumers also benefit from this - they have to pay less. And on the products there is a new inscription - Made in PRC. The country somehow must deal with negative associations! It's good or bad, you can judge only by the number of corporations, at the expense of Chinese factories increasing their own production capacities. If you do not take into account the ephemerality and scale of changes in the marking Made in China on Made in PRC, the result is that this is an ordinary brand rebranding.

Finally

One American family carried out a fascinating experiment. One day, after discovering that the whole house is filled with Chinese-made products, the relatives decided to abandon any things labeled Made in China or Made in PRC (the country is one). The family decided to dispense with the use of Chinese goods for a year to assess the scale of the introduction of products from China into their lives. Having lived this way for a year, family members concluded that they had to become more cunning and spend much more money. They admitted that they would hardly have dared once again to such an experiment. And you?
