Machines from "Fast and Furious 6": an attractive absurdity

Released on the screens in 2001, the film "Fast and Furious" became a cult cinema about illegal races. Each next part of it collects huge amounts at the box office all over the world. In addition to the remarkable composition of actors and an interesting drive story, a large part of the attention of viewers is attracted by cars, each of which has its own name. Machines from "Fast and Furious 6", playing in the film almost the main role, a lot. Therefore it makes sense to take a closer look first of all to those on which the main characters went. So, let's take a closer look at the cars from "Forsage 6", the last part of the franchise to date.

Lettie preferred the "British"

Letty machine from "Fast and Furious 6" deserves special attention, because this is quite rare in our days "Jensen Interceptor". For the film, this British 1971 car was equipped with an American motor "LS3". V-shaped Chrysler's G-8 developed up to 480 horses, and it was quite difficult to cope with the car. Also for filming it was repainted in matt gray with black stripes, lost bumpers and received an understated suspension.

Main character

Let's look at Dominic's cars. He, except for almost the entire first part, never changed muscular American cars. Dominic's car from "Fast and Furious 6" - black "Dodge Challenger" 2011. On it, along with Brian, he rushes along the serpentines at the very beginning of the picture. By and large, the car remained in the factory equipment, and for the film the body was only widened, a differential lock and a powerful handbrake were installed. All these improvements were needed for a more spectacular scene of the first race.

In the middle of the film, Dominic changes to another iconic carpet - "Dodge Charger Daytona." Toward the end he, like many cars from "Forsage 6", was shattered. Quite frankly, it was an ordinary "Charge", stylized as "Daytona." The original car is too rare and expensive to be mercilessly destroyed on the set. But the work on the alteration is done very qualitatively, and only the expert will notice small discrepancies, for example headlights of the head light. On the original "Dodge Charger Daytona" they are climbing, and in the car shot in the movie, neatly "poured" into the nose.

In the scene of the fall of the plane, Dominic escapes on another "Dodge", this time "Charger SRT8". It also differs from the stock model in a few trivialities: matte paint and sports seats. Under the hood, the "HEMI V8" engine with 6.4 liters of 470 horsepower remained unchanged. About appeared at the end of the film "Plymouth Barracuda", unfortunately, nothing is known.

Spectacular armored car

Quite ridiculous is the army armored car Hobbs "Navistar-Defense MXT-MV", not lagging behind the "BMW M5". This machine can do a lot, but with its mass to develop this speed and at the same time it is impossible to pass fast turns. Realistic for "Fast and Furious" is not the main thing, the main thing is entertainment. And the car turned out to be suitable for its owner: big, rough and powerful.

Police Brian's cars

Brian - a fan of the "Nissan GTR", and his love for these machines, the creators of the film are not bypassed. At the very beginning, he rides a silver sport car, and at the end, near the house in Los Angeles, a blue car appears. A detail that catches the eye of many viewers - in the race on the serpentine, Brian actively pulls the gear lever, and only a few know that it is sequential, with an underarm shift. Simply put, this is an automatic machine with the possibility of manual transmission selection, but the shift is made by paddle lobes. Why the driver needed to pull the lever all the time, remains a mystery. Apparently, it was so spectacular.

As the blue "GTR" rides, remains a mystery, on the screen it flashes only motionlessly standing. But the characteristics of this car from "Forsage 6" are impressive, because it worked on specialists of several eminent companies. After all the modifications, the 3.8-liter engine produces a power of 685 horsepower, it's quite a lot even for such a supercar. Some body panels have been replaced with carbon ones, even the brakes are carbon-ceramic. The body kit was created by the famous Japanese studio "BenSopra".

During the chase with the tank, Bryan's car from "Fast and Furious 6" is the legendary rally "Ford Escort RS2000". Despite the modest volume (only 2 liters), which the baby "Escort" stands out among the muscles surrounding him in this scene, he is very smart.

The creators of the film have reached the point of absurdity from a technical point of view

But the reputation of the most absurd, according to viewers, a car from "Fast and Furious 6" was given to the "upside-down" Owen Shaw. In the characters' dialogues about this car, the turbodiesel engine from the Lehmann prototype is mentioned, but in one of the scenes of the film, Shaw changes the spark plug on it! An annoying disconnect, you must agree. And the machine itself causes ambiguous emotions: on the one hand, it is high-tech (powerful engine, light weight, rear thrust wheels), but it looks like it was assembled by pioneers at the Station of young technicians from scrap metal. In addition, even though Shaw and Veg travel on "flips" one by one (without passengers), in each car there are two additional seats.

Special effects are more important than reality

To connoisseurs of the American classics one more musket car - 1969 "Anvil Mustang", which Roman Pearce ruled while chasing with the tank, was likened to. It is noteworthy that, despite the laws of physics and common sense, it becomes an anchor for a multi-ton tank and turns it over. The strength of the machine is very much exaggerated, but do not think about it when viewing the "Fast and the Furious".

In the pursuit of the streets of London, the team drives black "BMW 540i" in the body of the E60. Actually, all cars from "Forsage 6" were stylized under "M5" for the same reason: it was too expensive to destroy as many real "emok" as was broken on the set.

Impressions after viewing the sixth part of "Fast and the Furious" remain ambiguous. On the one hand, the tricks look really very unlikely. But the spectacle of the picture makes us forget about inconsistencies with the laws of physics, because millions of fans do not look at it because of realism. But with the rest of this movie the whole order: cool guys, beautiful girls, the sea of drive and a lot of great cars.
