Leukocytes are increased

At the person leucocytes are raised or increased - c than it can be connected? Increasing their number in the blood of an adult (more than 9X10 in the ninth degree per liter) is called leukocytosis. The level of leukocytes in the blood of a child depends on the age, there are special tables with such data.

There are several mechanisms for the development of leukocytosis:

  • Proliferation of hematopoietic sprouts, due to transformation of the stem polypeptide cell in cancer diseases;
  • Under the influence of natural factors stimulating leukopoiesis, such as the physico-chemical factors of inflammatory reactions, the entry of tissue decay products into the body fluids, the development of hypoxia, the emergence of immune complexes, the release of various toxins into the blood, the increase in the activity of the adrenal-pituitary system, the acceleration of the maturation of leukocytes in the hematopoietic Bodies;
  • Leukocytes in the blood are also increased due to the release of a large number of depots from the depot with pronounced vascular reactions.

An increase in the number of leukocytes can be both physiological and pathological. To pathological reasons because of which there are increased leukocytes are:

  1. A variety of purulent processes and inflammatory diseases in both acute and subacute, and chronic forms.
  2. Various pathological conditions and diseases that cause tissue hypoxia, for example: hemolysis, hemorrhage, poisoning with substances that bind hemoglobin.
  3. Pathologies, the consequence of which is tissue necrosis, for example: heart attacks of any internal organs, strokes, burns of large areas of the skin and mucous membranes.
  4. Diseases of non-inflammatory nature, which are accompanied by severe intoxication, for example: diabetic ketoacidosis, uremia and the like.
  5. Poisoning by various toxic substances.
  6. Development of malignant oncogenes.
  7. Because of the proliferation of the germ of hematopoiesis, leukocytes are increased with such diseases as erythremia, acute and chronic leukemia, polycythemia, and others.
  8. Diseases and conditions that are accompanied by immune reactions, for example: serum sickness, various collagenoses, glomerulonephritis and the like.

Also, leukocytes are elevated when exposed to such physiological factors as:

  • Eating foods rich in protein;
  • Considerable physical load;
  • Strong psychoemotional stress;
  • overheating;
  • Supercooling;
  • During pregnancy.

The last of the physiological causes, due to which the white blood cells can be increased, will be considered separately. Pregnant before taking the tests should not allow stress and physical exertion, as far as possible to limit the intake of medicinal substances, avoid taking both too hot and too cold baths, because all these factors can cause quite significant fluctuations in the level of leukocytes in the blood. And if in the normal state such fluctuations could be ignored, then during pregnancy the doctor will be obliged to conduct a thorough examination of the woman's body . But any medical manipulations, even the most innocuous ones - this is an additional stress for both the future mother and the fetus. Since, think only, because it will be necessary to exclude a huge list of possible pathologies, such as:

  1. Various infections - both bacterial and viral, fungal, caused by protozoa (meningitis, otitis, tonsillitis, pneumonia and many others).
  2. The presence of acute and chronic inflammatory processes in the body of a pregnant woman.
  3. Exacerbation of long healed and forgotten chronic diseases, which inevitably arises due to some weakening of immunity in pregnancy.
  4. The different localization of suppurative processes.
  5. Various pathologies of the urinary system.
  6. Allergic reactions of any etiology.
  7. The presence of helminths.
  8. Any expressed intoxication of the body.
  9. Disintegration of malignant oncogenesis.
  10. Acute pancreatitis, peritonitis or appendicitis.
  11. Stroke.
  12. Hemorrhages of different locations.
