Leonid Kirnos: biography and creativity

Few can name all the members of the beloved band. This is due to the fact that the compositions of many rock bands are constantly changing. Leonid Kirnos left the "Picnic" only once, in a difficult year for the group split. Nevertheless, there is very little information about it in the media. This is due to the fact that the musician is very modest and practically does not give interviews. During his career, he gave only a few comments for the book about the group.

History of the name and nationality

Many fans wonder who Leonid Kirnos is. His nationality can not be accurately determined by last name. On the forums, it is often assumed that he is a Jew or Balt, but this is not so. Let's go deep into the history of the name. Kirnos is a pagan god, which is very symbolic for the music that this man performs in the "Picnic" group.

The name has Greek roots, but it was common among the Western Slavs. It is possible that the musician is Belarusian, Ukrainian or Russian. Brief biographical note

Leonid Kirnos was born in 1957 in the family of the hero of the war. Zelik Kirnos went to the front as a volunteer immediately after the outbreak of the war. He was taken to tank troops. The father of the musician went through the war, despite the fact that he was wounded. He met the Victory Day in Koenigsberg. Later, he moved to Leningrad, where the family of Leonid later lived.

Until now, the musician has not moved to another city. It was here that he graduated from the evening music school, which was located in the House of Culture named after Volodarsky. Subsequently, he became a member of the Leningrad Rock Club, which was led by Andrei Tropillo. The first work was the participation in the collective "Paint".

"Picnic"

Until 1987, Leonid could not be called a permanent member of the group. At the time of his first acquaintance with the team, he was an engineer at KB "The Banner of Labor". Leonid participated in concerts and tours after the creation of the first album "Picnic" in 1983, which Edmund Shklyarsky recorded singly, since he is a multi-instrumentalist.

After leaving the group of the second vocalist Dobychin, the collective split. Shklarsky decided to try his hand at the Lenkoncert, where, because of the questions of ideology, it was not as good as it seemed. During this period, Leonid Kirnos started creating his own group "To be continued" and continued working in the design bureau. The group was short-lived, the musician settled in Leningrad.

By 1987, the participants overcame their differences and reunited, the group needed a drummer, since the former simply did not appear at the next concert. Leonid really liked the aesthetics of the group, which, with the departure of the Dobchin, changed to a more demonic one with an admixture of Eastern philosophy.

The most difficult period for Leonid and the group was January 1992. The "shock therapy for Gaidar" began, which struck all residents of Russia. During the tour with "Picnic" Leonid Kirnos managed to save $ 500, spending 80-90 per month. During this period, he even had an idea to go to Germany, but the documents for entry were confirmed too late, when everything was adjusted in Russia. He did not quit the work, he recorded the album "A Little Fire" with Edmund Shklyarsky without the participation of other musicians.
