Learning to draw a sketch. It is interesting!

If you have an irresistible desire to learn how to draw, you should start with sketches. A sketch is a sketch, a sketch, with it begins any drawing and even a picture. Before creating a work of art, the majority of the creators collected full sketch albums that showed how each character of the painting will look, the environment around them, the layout of the layout and the color palette.

After all, a sketch is a kind of a note by the artist, fixing thoughts about the surrounding life in general and some future work in particular. A good artist always walks with a notebook, so that it is possible to sketch a new impression.

This article will tell you how to choose the right object, what tools are needed, give advice and show examples to the beginning sketch maker.

Instruments

For drawing sketches, anything is suitable, even a napkin and a toothpick, moistened with espresso. But since we learn, it's best to take a thick paper (for drawing) of A4 size, no more, pencils of different density, eraser.

An object

The object for a sketch can be, of course, anything, but first you should choose an object that is immovable, independent of natural light sources, available. That is, one should not choose animals (the first sketches will be created long, the horse can not stand it).

Houses, benches, sculptures are also not a good choice for the first sketch. Drawing sketches implies placing light accents, but if a cloud suddenly pops up or, conversely, suddenly becomes clear?

The best option is a mug, a toy, a flower on your table under a lamp. Still it is possible to take a ready image, a picture, a photo and to try it to draw, for what too it is first necessary to make a sketch.

The tools are ready, the object is selected, we can begin.

How to draw a sketch?

Imagine your object without details, as if you are looking at it in the dark. You can practice by turning off the light. What remains the main thing? What lines, contours, shadows indicate that this is a mug, not a bucket or cactus? Have a presentation? Forward!

Determine the center of the sheet, draw through this point two lines - the vertical and the horizon.

Now determine the approximate center of your sketch (the subject may in fact be asymmetrical and stand above or below the horizon line), so draw two lines. Now you will not get lost in space.

We proceed to the image of the object itself, its outlines. For starters, you can draw not even lines, but dots or dotted lines.

When the dotted lines reflect the shape of the object, circle them into the main one.

Further improve your sketch, adding unique details.

The next step is to arrange the shadows on the object and define it in space. The example shows the creation of a sketch of a fictitious girl (character), but if your mug is standing on a curbstone, the edge is cut off from her, and behind her is an openwork napkin, all this - albeit in general terms - should be clearly visible.

Even the fantasy hero on the sketch should be worked out all the details, because the sketch is an instruction to create a drawing.

If there is a desire or need, you can finish the sketch by arranging the color accents. You can colorize anything, do it in sufficient detail or simply apply color spots.

Regular lessons will certainly lead to the fact that soon you will have original, original, informative sketches, and that is important - very quickly!

Another exercise - "five lines" - allow yourself to represent an object with just five lines or less. Trying to fulfill this condition is better when you already have some experience. Choose objects that you see fleetingly (from the minibus window, driving through the elevator) - train visual memory.

Try and do not give up, create a sketch - it's interesting!
