Lack of cardia of the stomach: causes, symptoms and methods of treatment

Insufficiency of the cardia of the stomach is a very dangerous violation. After all, the main function of the cardiac sphincter is to prevent movement of food in the opposite direction (from the stomach into the esophagus tube). If, for one reason or another, food particles along with gastric juice get back into the cavity of the esophagus, it is fraught with damage to the mucous membrane and the development of peptic ulcer. So what is the cause of the pathology, and what are its main symptoms?

Why there is a failure of the cardia of the stomach?

In fact, many factors are known, the impact of which can lead to disruption of the cardiac sphincter. Quite often, the lack of cardia is the result of more serious diseases of the digestive tract. Indeed, this pathology often occurs against a background of gastritis and pancreatitis.

In addition, the list of causes can be attributed and a hernia of the diaphragm. People who lead a sedentary, low-activity lifestyle fall into the risk group. The fact is that the weakness of the muscles gradually leads to a change in the location of certain organs of the digestive system. The cause may be obesity.

On the other hand, the failure of the cardia of the stomach can be the result of an improper diet. Of course, constant overeating, especially at night, leads to a weakening of the sphincter's musculature.

What is dangerous for cardiac failure?

As already mentioned, the cardiac sphincter is responsible for moving food into the stomach cavity. When it is deficient (incomplete closure of the valves), food particles, together with gastric juice, enter the cavity of the esophageal tube. Here, the mucous membrane is not adapted to the action of hydrochloric acid and digestive enzymes - thus, small burns and sores occur on the walls of the organ. Such changes increase the risk of malignant degeneration and often provoke the development of certain oncological diseases.

Lack of cardia of the stomach: symptoms

Such a disease is accompanied by very characteristic symptoms. And the first messenger in this case are frequent attacks of heartburn, a feeling of severe burning, and sometimes pain in the esophagus. It is worth noting that often discomfort increases after eating.

To signs of the disease can also be attributed to nausea, often turning into vomiting. Insufficiency of the cardiac sphincter can be accompanied by gurgling in the abdomen, frequent eructations. Patients, as a rule, can find a white coating on the tongue.

Because of nausea and heartburn, a sick person instinctively tries to reduce the amount of food taken, resulting in other symptoms: weakness, decreased performance, weight loss, apathy.

Inadequacy of the cardia of the stomach: treatment

Therapy for a similar disease depends on the cause of the disease. If the insufficiency is provoked by a gastritis, then it is necessary to treat it first, and with a hernia of the diaphragm it is hardly possible to do without surgical intervention.

If the disruption of the sphincter is associated with malnutrition and a sedentary lifestyle, the treatment is carried out at home. First, it is necessary to correct the diet - the optimal method is the so-called fractional nutrition. The diet should be full, but the patient should reduce the portion of food, while increasing the number of its techniques (for example, there is little by little 5-7 times a day).

Heartburn can be eliminated with the help of special medications, in particular, the means of "Rennie" and "Maalox" are considered effective.

An important part of therapy is physical activity. Recommended regular exercises to strengthen the muscles of the abdominal press, as well as frequent walks in the fresh air.
