James Crews is one of the most popular children's writers of the last century. He did not create so many works. But those who saw the light, read and re-read the guys from different countries.

early years

James Crews was born in Germany. His father earned his living by being an electrician. Peaceful existence on the island of Helgolan was interrupted when the war began. The family had to leave their native land and move to the mainland. Again, see the beloved island of Creus was only in the early 60's.

In 1944, James Crews graduated from high school. At that time he was eighteen years old, so he was drafted into the army. But he did not manage to become part of the army. And the reason was the acquaintance with the writer Erich Kestner. He suggested that James try to write stories for children. This idea attracted a man very much.

Creative way

His creative career began in 1951. Since then, James Creus has been recognized as a story writer for children. But only while he was known not to such a wide circle of people. The writer created not only stories for children. He was also fond of poetry. Crew composed individual works, as well as important verse complements for his prose works. He spent his whole life working on stories for children.

In a truly distressed situation, Tim agreed. And soon after that he became rich. He could afford everything he did not dare to dream about. But only the realization of desires did not bring him joy, for he could no longer laugh. And then Tim decided to get the laughter back. But that's just how? Tell friends he had no right. After all, in this case, not only would he forever lose the opportunity to regain his laughter, but also lose his incredible luck in all the wagers.

"My great-grandfather, heroes and I"

A special place among children's literature is occupied by books that teach and educate. Few writers have found that fine line between boring edification and a fascinating work. James Crews is one of them.

This prose work is diluted with poems composed personally by the author. And it tells about the conversation of the great-grandfather-poet and great-grandson-poet. Wise, gray-haired old man tells more and more new stories about the heroes who lived at different times. He narrates about knights, wandering warriors, great battles and treacherous enemies.
