Ivanovskie lakes (Khakassia) - the pearl of Russia

Indeed, the most picturesque places in Russia are Ivanovskie lakes (Khakassia). The photos that you can see below reveal all the superiority of the virgin nature of this region. They amaze their gaze with their splendor and picturesqueness of local landscapes. There are lakes on the border of Khakassia and the Kemerovo region in the highland belt, on the eastern slope of the Kuznetsk Alatau.

Description and natural features

Ivanovskie ponds are 4 mountain lakes. All of them are distinguished by a rather large depth and very icy water. Located cascade, between the peaks called Ararat and Bobrovaya (the height of these peaks above sea level - 1546 and 1617 meters respectively). From the upper lake flows the Sarala River, which flows into the lower reservoir of this system. In this place it forms a wonderful waterfall. It is worth noting that Ivanovskie lakes (Khakassia) do not have specific names, only common. The largest of them is usually called Upper and Lower.

Ivanovskie lakes are located in the zone of perpetual ice, therefore glaciers and so-called snowfields are scattered throughout the territory. The water bodies are very deep, the average figure is 140 meters. What is most surprising is that the water simply amazes with its transparency. In the water there is fish, however, not in all. For example, in the Upper Lake there is practically no water. To explain this is quite simple: the water temperature in it is so low that such a cold is simply unacceptable for the animal world. The Ivanovo lakes can boast of karst origin. Khakassia such reservoirs is rich in full: hence the presence of great depths. "Feed" lakes waterfalls and streams, which receive water from the snowfields.

What is waiting for tourists?

Lakes are not suitable for tourist attractions: swimming and diving. The water in them is so icy that it is even dangerous for a person to dive into it. Also, in some water bodies, the banks are simply absent in the sense of the word that is customary for us. On the one hand here you can see steep slopes and rocks, on the other - smooth blocks, surrounding Ivanovo lakes. Khakassia has always been distinguished by a large number of reservoirs with a dangerous descent.

The canopy is only the western shores of the lower lakes, it is there that you can meet the parking lot of travelers. Nevertheless, tourists are attracted by the picturesque view of the surrounding nature. Eternal snow on the slopes of the mountains make it possible to practice winter sports all year round.

Nature reserve

The territory of the Ivanovo lakes is planned to be registered as a natural park, which is unique in its kind, because it is in the highland belt. This is facilitated, in addition to the picturesque nature, a unique variety of flora and fauna. Some representatives of flora and fauna are listed on the pages of the Red Book. The main purpose of the park is to protect and protect some biocenoses (among them alpine meadows), as well as rare plant communities - groves of winding birch and unique tundra species. Ivanovskie lakes (Khakassia) - the territory of the reindeer population. This place is also rich in berries - cranberries and blueberries.

Closer to the Lower Lakes are tourist bases and hotels. In summer there are guided tours to the mountains and to reservoirs, and from November to May you can go for snowmobiling, skiing, snowboarding.

Ivanovskie lakes, Khakassia: how to get there?

To get to your destination, you need to overcome a difficult path. The distance from the largest inhabited point of Krasnoyarsk is 450 km. You can travel by car, driving through the cities of Achinsk, Uzhur, Kopyovo. From the last village you need to go along a gravel road to the Priiskovy farm, having overcome a decent distance - 100 km. And from this settlement to the lakes - a little more than 10 km. The difficulty of the route lies in the poor roadability of roads. Almost the entire distance can be traveled only on an off-road vehicle or walk. At the beginning of this road, tourist camps are usually broken up. In the same way it is possible to overcome the route and on intercity transport.
