Another important parameter of the device is its capacity - it affects performance. Today the bit depth is represented by such a number: 16, 32 and 64. However, 16-bit processors are almost not used, modern software is designed for 32-bit and 64-bit platforms.

If the processor is written 64/32, then the device is equipped with a 16-bit data bus and a 20-bit address bus. The latter is necessary to determine the amount of RAM that the processor can support.

The processor is the main organ of the personal computer, and on the extent to which it is resource-dependent, the possibilities for further overhauling depend. In other words, you can sacrifice RAM and some other parameters, but do not economize on the processor, unless, of course, you plan to upgrade your computer.

Perhaps a processor with a good margin of performance with some components will not work at full capacity. However, over time, the system can be improved, and spending on the head unit will be eliminated. It is better to buy one good device than first a bad one, and then a good one.

As already mentioned, the processor is a complex device, so its overall performance can not be calculated mathematically, it is determined only experimentally. The fact is that the capabilities of this device are characterized by several parameters, including the bit depth, the frequency, some features of the processor's production, the amount of cache memory and so on. Therefore, for proper evaluation of the operation of the main control device of a computer, it is necessary to include it in the overall system and measure the output characteristics.
