In addition, toning does not allow you to consider what is in the car, and therefore, to some extent, protects against the increased attention of car thieves, specializing in the theft of valuables left in the cabin.

In addition to its useful properties, toning has aesthetic qualities, it gives the car a more respectable look. But only if it is glued correctly and there are no blisters, scratches and other defects.

Unfortunately, over time the appearance of toning deteriorates, and then it has to be changed. For this, it is first necessary to get rid of the old film covering the glass. Let's consider step by step how to remove toning yourself.

First, the glass, from which you plan to remove the film, it is desirable to warm up. In this case, the glue will become softer, and toning will be much easier to separate from the glass. For warming, you can use a conventional hair dryer. Do not bring it too close to the surface, in order to avoid overheating, warm the glass evenly, before removing the toning yourself. Do not allow the plastic parts of the finish to warm up.

Then it is necessary to lower the glass to about half, if it is a question of the side windows of the car. It will be much easier to separate the upper edge of the film from the glass surface. Separate the edge of toning with a sharp knife.

Then there are two ways how to remove the tint of the car glass. The first involves removing the tint film with one sharp movement. To do this, it is necessary to take both hands over the upper edge of the film, and pull it down forcefully. Following the second method, toning is removed gradually. With one hand, slowly pull the film toward you, and the second one carefully separates the glue from the glass with an acute thin knife or blade.

But in the first and second case, the glue is likely to remain on the glass. So before removing the tint yourself, prepare everything you need to then completely clean the glasses from the traces of the glue. In this you can help a sharp clerical knife, which can scrape off the remnants of glue from the glass. But after the knife on the glass there may be scratches, so it is better to use special solvents intended for cleaning the glass after toning. They can be purchased at any car dealer. For the same purpose undiluted medical alcohol will do.

If the glue on the glass remains a little, then it can be removed with the help of a usual dishwashing detergent diluted in warm water. It is necessary to moisten the glass with this solution and thoroughly wipe with a soft rag.
