NASA plans to make a "surprising" statement regarding the satellite of Jupiter - Europe

Every time NASA announces that it is going to make an unusual statement, usually there are Internet projections of a possible event. And the last statement that will be made this week, probably, will not be anything different.

What are you going to tell NASA?

NASA is going to reveal amazing evidence of activity on the satellite of Jupiter Europe. In a short statement, a representative of NASA said: this evidence may be due to the presence of the subsurface ocean in Europe. So this statement should be really interesting.

Of the NASA staff who will take part in this, one certainly stands out. This is Britney Schmidt - assistant professor at the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Her research includes the discovery of habitable systems, as well as the dynamics of the ocean on planets and their satellites, in particular, in Europe.

What do we know about Europe?

For some time, scientists have assumed that in Europe there is an underground ocean, located under its icy crust. However, most estimates indicate that it contains more water than there is on Earth. Scientists have indirect evidence of its existence, but until now it is not known exactly how great or deep it is, and, most importantly, if someone can dwell in it.

Some scientists suggest that hydrothermal vents on the seabed can be sources of heat and energy in the ocean. For this reason, many see Europe as a potentially good place to discover life elsewhere in the solar system.

These latest data were collected using the Hubble Space Telescope. At the moment this is all we know. So keep an eye on the announcements that NASA does. Quite probably, soon Europe will become more seductive as a goal for future missions.
