How to properly take De-Nol - instruction will tell

Currently, the fact that the cause of gastric ulcers and gastritis is the infection of the patient's body with special Helicobacter pylori bacteria, is universally recognized. Therefore, the approach to drug therapy for inflammatory bowel disease has been fundamentally revised. One of the preparations of basic therapy of gastritis with high acidity, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome became De-Nol, the instruction to which indicates the need for a long treatment (at least 8 consecutive weeks).

Principle of action of the drug

It is known that the hit Helicobacter pylori in the digestive tract causes disease not in all people, but when this microorganism is introduced into the gastric mucosa, defects of various size and depth are formed on its surface. In case of superficial injuries, in the vast majority of cases after the examination, the patient is diagnosed with gastritis, and when the process is spreading to the submucosal layer, peptic ulcer is diagnosed. De-Nol tablets, the instruction to which indicates that the main active ingredient of the drug is colloidal citrate of bismuth, has its therapeutic effect simultaneously in several directions.

First, this drug, when it enters the acidic environment of the stomach, immediately forms a gel-like protective layer on the mucosal surface, which restores the barrier between the cells of the epithelium and the gastric contents. Accordingly, the prerequisites are created for the healing of existing injuries and preventing the progression of the disease. Secondly, numerous studies of the drug have proved that the De-Nol, the instruction to which should be carefully read by the patient prior to the beginning of treatment, actively influences the processes of vital activity of microorganisms of the gastric mucosa and exerts bacteriostatic action on Helicobacter pylori. That is why when using this drug in the complex treatment of peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, there is no need for long-term administration of antimicrobial drugs (metronidazole and antibiotics, to which the microorganism is sensitive).

Indications and contraindications for the appointment of De Nol

Currently, in the vast majority of cases with gastric ulcer, gastritis, irritable bowel syndrome, especially when diarrhea is present, doctors recommend De-Nol to their patients. Side effects from taking this medication are rare enough (except for patients with kidney failure, regardless of the cause of its origin). Therefore, while observing the necessary duration of treatment and performing medical appointments, scarring of mucosal lesions occurs quickly enough, but in order to fix the effect, it is necessary to conduct a full course of antiulcer drugs and diet compliance. In this case, the colloidal preparation of bismuth destroys the causative agent of the disease, which prevents the occurrence of relapses of the disease.

To achieve the desired effect of treatment, patients should know how to take De-Nol and how to combine this medication with other medications prescribed for the combined therapy of peptic ulcer and functional bowel disorders. However, most gastroenterologists and therapists advise their patients not to take any other recommended medication and De-Nol at the same time. The instruction advises to take the drug 3-4 times a day for half an hour before meals and immediately before going to bed. With this mode of reception, a protective film is created on the surface of the mucosa of all parts of the gastrointestinal tract and the scarring of the lesions is markedly accelerated.
